If the hoses are soft they are closeing together when the car is ran shutting off the water to the engine. Replace hoses. The thermostat is located on top of the engine where the water hose goes into the engine block head. It just sits there with two bolts holding it on and a clamp around the hose.

trace the upper radiater hose back to engine. Where this hose connects to engine is called the "thermostat housing" thermostats are usually located under these or their extensions. The first thing I would check when I have a "low heat" situation, is the connections where the heater hoses connect to the engine for rust and corrosion, or clogged heater hoses or heater core cloggs.

Please tell me where the thermostat is located. Thank you!! What are some of the symptoms of a sticking thermostat?

The thermastat is at the end of the radiator hose on the engine, under the housing the hose attaches to. Over heating, heater blows cold, is the symtoms.

Trying to find thermostat can you help

Not Familiar with vehicle but can give you some basic info. The Thermostat could be on top or bottom of engine. It is in a bell shaped housing, follow the Hoses from the Radiator. If you get heat when the Engine shows warm and you don't overheat it's not the Thermostat. If your not getting heat check the level of coolant first. If coolant is low you wont get heat or low heat.If your overheating it could be other problems,Blown Head Gasket.Clogged Radiator, insufficient coolant.Good Luck.

Check fluid level in radiator first. If it is full try putting a piece of cardboard in front of radiator and see if it heats up. If that solves the problem most likely the thermostat. Follow the big upper radiator hose back to the engine and the thermostat should be located there under the thermostat housing.

If you're running it without a thermostat it's clear there isn't enough/any coolant circulating through the block. When the motor is running are the hoses off the radiator soft and flexible or stiff. If they're soft there's no coolant flowing through them. Chances are the radiator core is bad or there is a crack in it somewhere. Have it removed and tested.

To locate the thermostat follow the upper radiator hose from the radiator to the engine it will be at the end of the hose. Also if you have an electric secondary fan make sure the sensor that controls it is working or the engine will over heat.
