SOURCE: blowing cold air
I had the same problem that I just fix by flushing the heater core out with a hose. take the two hoses off the fire wall and put the water to it and let flush. my heater is putting out 150 dg. F of hot air. I'm so excited! i will stay warm now.

More likely the recharge blew a o-ring and you have a leak. When your Cavalier was blowing hot air and a recharge fixed it that means it was low on freon which lets o-rings dry out, go back to the shop and have them leak test it. They use a pressurized dye to find the problem. If it's blowing it's not the cooling fan relay, they may have meant compressor relay but I'd have a leak test done first it's not expensive and easier that chasing unknown possibilities.

You have dual zones that are controlled by temperature actuators the passenger side has lost its memory or has gone bad you can put it in self programming by disconnecting the battery for ten minutes then hook it back up start the truck turn the temperature control on but do not touch any other controls let it go thru the self programming for about 6 to 7 minutes then select your temperature you want if it still does not work properly you may have a bad actuator or a bad connection at the actuator

There are many common issues with the ac there is a thermostatic switch (thermistor) that goes bad it keeps the evaporator from freezing up and will interrupt compressor relay power. there is another common probwith the triple switch located on the reciever dryer. there are other problems but them are common there is also a tsb about charge capacity.
