SOURCE: need to remove headlight assembly

Once you turn the octagon screw to release the light and push it forward or out of the front of the vehicle, take a light and look to the left side if your working on the driver side or the right side if your working on the passenger side and you will see a metal tab release. Take a long flat head screw driver and press down toward the ground gently. The headlight will be released and the whole assembly comes out as it has a plug/electrical connection on the back of the assembly. I just replaced my headlights, I have a 2004 Touareg with 44,000 miles and have already gone through 2 sets of headlights. The VW dealer will want $300.00 to replace 1 side! They have lost their minds. How long have you had yours and what engine do you have? Just curious if you have had any problems? My Touareg has just needed tires, brakes, headlights. I have done the brakes as well. They want around $900.00 + for front plus about 8 for the rear. If you need anything just hollar and if you have any questions just let me know if I canhelp.

SOURCE: I have to replace the ballast for the HID

You need to remove the front bumper. Five push clips along the hood line, remove the headlight wipers (if equipped), one T25 screw in the front of each fender well, then two 12mm bolts under the headlights (1 each side). Then there are 4 10mm bolts holding the headlight in.

Where is the camshaft positioning sensor located in the 2004 nissan quest

Your 2004 Nissan Quest is most likely to be equipped with a 3.5L V-6 engine. This engine has 2 Cam (PHASE) sensors. One is located in the back of each cylinder head. You must remove your intake air duct to see them.

Is it true that the whole engine needs to be disaasmbled to reapair the timing on a 2004 nissan quest

The oil pan will need to be removed to remove the front cover. It would be easier to remove the engine to replace the timing components. Only the oil and front cover needs to be removed.

There should be a three wire connector at the headlight. Disconnect it. Turn the large plastic nut that holds the bulb in place and replace the bulb.

Nissan Quest 2004 Tail Lights

Robynumber1,

Thanks for the email back. The nissan quest tail lights werenot operating, but the break lights were working. This was ultimately caused by a blown fuse. The fuse was blown by loose trailer lighting wires dragging on the ground, thus shorting. Problem fixed.
