Mine kept telling me both left and right brake lights needed replacing and I noticed that on one of the bulb socket contacts that touch the metal plates on the right brake light, the plastic behind it was melted creating a crevice therefore not making good contact. I added aluminum foil behind the contact (both circled in red in the pic) and the plastic and walla, saved 50 bucks worth of parts ;-). Fixing the right brake light fixed the left one too so tackle the right one first.my 2007 ml350 brake light - 8_10_2012_2_18_55_am.jpg

I own a 2006 ml50 with 133k, is the bulb holder contacts, they burn a small hole in the taillight metal plate that all the bulb attache to, remove taillight assembly clean and use a soldering iron and added some solder in the small burn hole, it has fixed the problem and the error message has gone away, my was out of warranty the dealer wanted 600.00 to replace the tailight assembly, ps it will return as more miles are put on

Fuse keeps blowing on brake lights

It sounds like a short in the brake light circuit. When you are hitting the brakes, it is sending power along the positive wire of the circuit and shorting on the ground somewhere in the circuit. They make tools for finding shorts, which consists of an amp meter and circuit breaker. However, you can start by checking all wires that go to the brake lights. Start with the ones that are usually accessible through the trunk. Don't forget to check the third brake light if your vehicle has one. You will also want to check the bulb sockets themselves.

Rear passenger brake light keeps blowing out what could be the problem and my radio keeps draing my battery in a 2000 Pontiac montana

Check the Amps on your Fusebox for your brake light if the correct amp measurement is installed for the break lights then consider using a larger bulb or a bulb that can handle more voltage. most likely incorrect voltage is going to the bulb this is normally fixed by adjust the fuse amp amount to be lower or higher or changing the bulb voltage size

Why won't my MB ml350 brake lights work even after i install new bulbs?

Did you check the fuse? Either the fuse may be out, or the brake light swith on the brake pedal may be out or need adjusting. You should have 12 volts at the brake switch.

Brake lights on mb ml350 don't work even after installing new bulbs

Rick,
The brake lamps on your Mercedes are computer-controlled. I would recommend scanning your computer network for possible fault codes.

2003 ML350 brake indicator/warning

check your brake fluid, if the brakes are wore that bad then the brake calibers extended out all the way which will use more brake fluid and trigger the sensor to warn you, or worst case you are leaking brake fluid somewhere.

Ford focus brake light failure !!!

1 - are you SURE theyre the right bulbs! - if theyre too bright they can blow the fuse, if theyre the wrong type of bulb they will blow the fuse.. best get the bulbs direct from ford, they are always in stock, so are the proper fuses.
2 - theres a center brakelight isnt there? check this bulb too for proper wattage and size/shape
Other than that maybe the wiring in the boot is damaged and shorting?? -----
Leave feedback good or bad.
