Find your Volvo's sunroof switch on the overhead console between the visors. Locate the small retaining screw at the back of the window-controller button's plastic housing.
Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove that screw. Set it aside in and then remove the plastic housing.
Find the wiring harness plug in the back of the switch. Press in the two tabs on the sides of the plug and pull it out. The two tabs are on the sides of the plug. Pull the old switch out and set the new one in place with your fingers.
Plug the wiring harness into the back of your Volvo's new sunroof switch. Hold the new switch up and replace the plastic housing. Install the screw to hold the plastic in place.
Replace your Volvo's negative battery cable.
