The throttle body needs cleaning, the butterfly and surrounding area have built up deposits that prevent the butterfly plate from closing all the way. The air inlet tube needs to be removed from the throttle body (TB) and the plate and the surrounding surface cleaned with Throttle Body spray cleaner. Make sure to disconnect the battery for about 30 minutes when doing this cleaning in order to reset the computer and allow it to relearn with the freshly cleaned TB.

2004 chevy trailblazer idles up and down when heater is turned on

Not just the heater, but the defroster only. Turning the AC on will do the same thing. You need to clean your throttle body with the battery disconnected to fix this problem.

I have a 2004 trailblazer and when i turn on the defrost or the air it missfires can u help me

Sounds to me like your alternator is getting bad, or your battery is getting weak. The heater and rear defrost are the two things that suck the most power up. When you turn them on, the alternator cannot keep up with the charging of the battery for the necessary power to run it, or the battery cannot hold the charge that the alternator is putting out. Hope this is helpful and makes sense to you good luck, cheers from Nova Scotia !

My 2004 Trailblazer started idling rough today. We changed the battery approx a week ago. How can we fix this? Thank you.

By chance, did it start idling rough while you had the defroster on, or the A/C? This is a very common problem after the battery is disconnected AND the defroster or the A/C is on. The defroster uses the A/C to dry the air. To fix this, spend about $7 on a can of throttle body cleaner. Disconnect your battery again, and clean your throttle body. After finished, reconnect the battery and drive for about 5 miles with the defroster or A/C off, this will allow the computer to reset and relearn the newly cleaned throttle body. When you changed your battery, you computer reset and thought the throttle body was clean, therefore you get rough idling when the defroster or A/C is on.

My blazer motor dies out when I turn on the ac or defrost. Why?Also the passenger side headlight goes out If I wiggle the socket It comes back on for awhile.

Replace the headlight pigtail or plug and the headlight also. Engine is idleing too low probabally IAC (idle air control motor) is worn out. Also there is a sensor when you turn on a/c witch also comes on with the defroster that tells the pcm to adjust idle for a/c operation that may be bad or not connected.

Replaced battery in 2004 chevy trailblazer 4x4 8cl., then air conditioner doesnt blow out the face vents only the defrost and feet. any ideas?

Typically, you have a vacuum issue, air flow system is designed to FAIL in the defrost mode, so no vacuum, doors are spring loaded to blow out defrost ports.
