Sorry but get a proper mechanic to check it out iam not telling you anything because this could cause an accident.Your friend should not have undertaken this work without supervision from a qualified mechanic .

Why am I hearing a low pinging sound in the rear/left suspension in my 92 Chrysler Lebaron when I turn?

I think your problem is in the wheel bearing. It needs to be replaced or just adjusted. GOOD LUCK FRIEND.

Lots of shaking from side to side.

Could be a bad tire ( or bent rim Have balance checked), ball joint, idler arm, wheel bearing, steering tie rod end or defective rack and pinion unit. Lift vehicle about 1 inch off ground ( do each side independently) Use a pry bar and pry from ground up and down on wheel. Much play? bad ball joint. With both hands, try to move wheel side to side. Much play? could be a tie rod end or bad wheel bearing. Visually check play of steering arm into rack and pinion unit, more than about a half inch play, bad rack and pinion unit. Try to move back and forth with hands top and bottom. Much play? Bad ball joint or wheel bearing, verify visually that it is ball joint moving, else it is the wheel bearing. Manually check for play in each joint in steering control rods from steering knuckle all the way through each rod where there is a joint. Replace the one you find excessive play in. Check mounting studs for sway bar for loose fit, deteriorated rubber bushings or a crack / break in the sway bar. Replace if needed. That's about all I can think of unless it only happens when applying brakes, in which case it could be a warped rotor.

What is th racket pion wat does it do

The rack and pinion replaces the old steering box. It is located under the frame behind the front wheels and obviously steers the car. It does wear out and need to be replaced on occasion. A rebuilt one usually costs in the $150US range. Hope this helps.

I had someone install a racket pinion on my 92 chrysler lebaron an the steering wheel is up side down an it makes a popping nosie when u turn and it shakes real bad what seems to b the problem

The rack and pinion was not aligned and installed properly that is why the steering wheel is upside-down, and it might not even be secured in the vehicle correctly and the safety of your vehicle is now seriously in question. The rack and pinion should be inspected by someone who really knows what they are doing to be sure that it is properly mounted and tightened down in the vehicle, and if the tie rod ends were not properly measured out and the lengths matched with that of the old unit then the vehicle will need to have the front end aligned to stabilize the vehicle.
