Question about GMC Sierra 1500

Please help I have a 2006 GMC SIERRA. This is my only transportation for me and my children . The air conditioner will not turn off and it stays on high all the time. What can be the proublem. Sincerly Mrs. Nancy Perches

Sorry i think its a dealer only job as their is a climatic computer behind the dash and this controls everything ,or pull the fuse out

  1. Air conditioner system is discharged. Have the system evacuated, charged and leak tested by an MVAC certified technician, utilizing approved recovery/recycling equipment. Repair as necessary.
  2. Air conditioner compressor clutch not engaging. Check compressor clutch wiring, electrical connections and compressor clutch, and repair or replace as necessary.

I have a 2006 GMC Sierra. The heat/defrost blower fan stays on when the ignition is turned off. The only way to stop it is to pull the fuse.


Sounds like the blower switch is shorted. Try running through the blower speeds to see if that changes anything.

Mass air sensor and intake air temperature sensor


They are not the same thing but the air temp sensor is made into the mass air sensor

Air conditioning


Need to have your HVAC system scanned to determine what has failed in that system. Possible blend door for drivers side or maybe the system just needs recalibrated.
