You need to unbolt it from throtlebody, disconnect connector, then remove the coolant hoses to it, then clean with throtlebody cleaner, ive found that this doesnt work to often on these honda that use the coolant to also control the idle with electrionics, but give it a try, hope this is helpful.

1991 Honda Accord Miss-fires dies

I would try replacing the ignition control module and the distributor pickup as the next most likely cause of this problem. Also I would do the following

This problem can be caused by a dirty automatic idle speed control valve and throttle valve. Buy a can of throttle valve cleaner from NAPA or Carquest (made by CRC chemicals) and spray it into the air intake while the engine is running, use up about 1/2 the can, engine will try to stall hold the speed up, shut it down and let it soak for 30 minutes, restart and blow out the remaining fluid, shut it down and disconnect the negative battery cable for 5 Min's to reset the base idle control

1991 HONDA ACCORD EX REALLY HIGH IDEL

High idle conditions could be a result of low coolant levels causing the fast idle valve under the throttle body to catch air and not operate accordingly as it needs pressure built once car is warmed up to close the gap of allowed air passage reslting in lower idle at time engine reaches operating temperature. 91 honda accord engine surges until its warmed up

You need to remove the idle air control valve(s) and clean the carbon deposits out with either mineral spirits or paint thinner and a tooth brush. There are two separate parts to the idle control system and they are connected together by hoses. The main valve has an electric motor, but the rest is a hallow system that needs cleaned - one of holes has a screen filter that has to be cleaned with a tooth brush - the rest can be soaked in mineral spirits - just make sure the electric motor section of the part does not get sumbmerged in the mineral spirits. The second part is simply a valve and can be completely submerged in the mineral spirits. The valves are located on the front vertical side of the fuel injection block behind the engine's valve cover.

My 1986 honda accord runs at a high RPM when cold and dies when its warm

i'm really not familiar with the older hondas but if you've got an idle air control valve yours is a common symptom of a faulty idle air control valve. check the wiring to it and make sure the connector is clean and tight. if the wiring and connector is good i'd recommend replacing the iac valve.
