There is no easy way. You might try removing the front seat but it's still a pain in the neck ha ha. Thank you GM designers.

Where is the blower motor relay on my 2001bmw 325i? I have the glove box out but don't know which relay it is.

Your BMW uses a blower motor resistor to control the speed. It is located on the passenger side of the heater/ac case near the firewall. If you are laying in the passenger front floor and look to the left and approximately 4 inches from the firewall and 2 inches above the carpet, you should see a connector with five wires. The resistor is held in the heater box by a plastic tab about a inch long. depress the tab downward and remove the blower resistor.

Heater switch replacment

Hello! it's my job to make things as easy for the customer as possible...Therefore I must ask why you want to replace the heater switch? Is it because you have lost one or two of the switch speeds? Your vehicle is noted for loss of the Blower Motor Resistor...
Changing the Heater switch means removal of the Climate Control Assembly which is not the easiest of jobs...I've included the process...But are you sure the blower resistor is OK? If you have lost 1,2, or all blower motor speeds it's more than likely the Resistor pack. And a lot easier to change...

Remove climate control:

  1. Remove the instrument cluster finish panel...
  1. Remove the 3 climate control assembly screws...
  1. Disconnect the climate control assembly vacuum connector...
  1. Disconnect the 5 climate control assembly electrical connectors...
  1. Remove the climate control assembly..
Removal of blower motor Switch:
  1. Remove the climate control assembly.
  1. Remove the blower motor switch knob.
  1. Remove the blower motor switch.
    1. Remove the screw.
    1. Remove the blower motor switch.

Removal of blower motor Resistor:

Blower Resistor is under the battery tray...

Were is the ac heater blower motor resister on a 2001 dodge ram 1500 4x4 sport

to replace the resistor Lay on your back on the pass floor-remove the black plastic ducting that routes heat to the r/s of floor. there should be a black plug right in the middle of the heater box, there are 2 screws next to that plug, remove them and the resistor will slide out. 10_15_2011_3_08_25_am.gif

1999 Ford Contour a/c blower only works on high - can you provide a pic and location of the part that needs to be replaced ... Thanks!

you need a new blower motor resistor. It's in the heater black plenum case, usually on the passenger side near the blower motor. Look for 2 scress and a wiring connector. Lay on floor on pass side & look up. it should be there. About $25.

Here is an example, not yours exactly. Good luck & please rate.

2001 f150 ac blower motor will only blow on high

This is a symptom of the Blower motor resistor is out on the lower settings.

Easy enough to change, and I think it is still ~ 25.00 from the dealer ( or Ford dealers that sell parts online ).

Most just lay on the passenger floor to do the work, it is facing down.

This is a picture of the blower motor resistor installed, taken from the passenger floor

It could be just the blower motor resistor itself or the resistor and pigtail

Wher is the blower resistor pack on a 2005 gmc pickup

Underneath the dash near the passengers feet, right next to the blower motor. It is held by two screws or is clipped in with plastic clips. Probably screws though and has a wire harness attached to it. Very easy to replace, just might have to lay on your back on the passenger side floor to visually see it and remove the resistor pack.

F150 1997 ford heater fan only blows on hight

Plan on finding a melted blower motor resistor. Usually when the blower goes single speed, the blower motor resistor is the cause.

You can find it on the passenger side, looking up behind the dash / Glove box area.
In this picture the passenger side kick panel ( where the inertia fuel switch is at ) is on the right hand side of the picture.

This is what it might look like when you get it out :
The blower motor only has the 1 fuse and blower motor relay on it. If it works on high, those are OK..

Parts should be less than 75.00 total from a dealer, and it is a metric socket and lay on your back on the passenger side floor repair, real easy and quick.

Tried to replace blower motor per the auto parts shop, didn't work. blower not working at all, fuses good. try resistor? pain to replace? anything else to try first?

The resistor is easy to replace and only costs 12 dollars at your local dodge dealer. All you need is a nut driver and a light. The resistor is located under the passenger side dash. Put the front passenger seat all the way back and lay on the floor board. There are 2 screws that hold the resistor in place. Remove the screws, unplug the wire connector, plug in the new resistor and replace the screws. Won't take more than ten minutes.

Blower motor resistor

The blower motor resistor is located near the blower motor. It is held in place by 2 screws, and has a wire clip connected to it. Very simple fix.

I hope this helps you, and I wish you luck on your repair.

Heater stays on hi havc won't turn off all fuses good

The resister is located under the dash in the passenger footwell area. It is to the driver's side of the blower motor up against the firewall.

To remove, it's easiest to remove the passenger seat to lay down on the car floor. Next, find the blower resistor, remove the connector, remove the one front bolt and just loosen the two bolts by the firewall. Pull the resistor down and out from the two bolts. Installation of the new resistor is the opposite of removal.

Hope this helps
