Hi, it seams if you rejetted it wrong or left them out. if float stuck it will flood carburetter and the plugs will get WET and will not start. try to remember the other things you done. gerry

Check the firewall for a ballast resister. It's a little porcelain thing with either one blade connected wire or two on each side. Held to the firewall with one bolt in the center. Change that, and keep a spare on hand.

Your running real rich. most likely the float in the carb is leaking or stuck or the needle valve has crude on it that can be cleaned if you take the carb apart.

black soot is a running rich condition it's getting to much gas not enough air .. 14-1 ratio air to gas your carb rebuild needs to be rechecked for sticking float..

1983 toyota pickup truck runs rough when the motor warms up

It would appear that the Black smoke is unburnt fuel, meaning Spark or timing could also be out. Check you plug and point gaps. If you rebuilt the carby, float level is crucial also check the needle and set to ensure it is shutting off the fuel, if it is not shutting off, it will just flood the engine. Not sure what carby you have but I woud pull out the jets/power valve and replace them. Some carbys have a small ball bearing to control fuel, if that was lost that could be it. Pull up an exploded diagram of the carby and do it again. I know its time consuming, but it will be peace of mind. Good luck

Toyota 22r starts hard and floods. Repalced

It sounds like the carb. float is set to high and /or the needle and seat has some dirt in it allowing to much fuel inside the carb.. This will allow to much fuel into the engine. It seems the carb could use a rebuild and dont forget to replace your fuel filter.I hope this helps.

Need to replace lug bolts

You have to rap it good with a big hammer. They will come off. Try spraying the center hub with WD 40 or penetrating oil and let it set for a while.
