You dont state which engine but for the most part follow the to radiator hose to where it connects to the engine. Under this housing you will find the thermostat. On the 2 litre engine it is on the LH side of the engine just behind the cam belt cover.

should be around 13.5 -14 volts running.if you only have 12 you have a charging system issue.

My 2004 toyata celica takes forever to heat up. Fan runs and engine is warm but no heat

I assume through lack of description that you are talking about the heater no heating up??

If so could be two faults.

First is faulty thermostat.

Second is faulty heater control unit / tap.

My 1987 toyata camry would not start, it had no spark, mechanic thinks it's the distributer, but it is running again. could it last a while without getting a new distributer

its probably the ignition module in the distributor,can be intermittent,or stop when hot,sometimes module is intergrated into distributor so it may come as 1 unit,fairly common wont fix itself

please explain when the heat comes and when it goes, if it heats up at idle then you need to replace the engines thermostat, it is running cold

1987 toyota celica st a/c light blinking and compressor does not come on blows hot air

with out asking a lot of questions I WOULD SAY that a/c system needs regasing low gas levels give that exact symptom

Heater won't get hot

change your thermostat, its stuck open. I had the same problem and now I have heat!
