Personally,i would reccomend every 60/5years.the makers dont pay for the big bill if it snaps.

hi, it realy depends on how hard the car has been driven. can take a years worth of rubber off the belt. if the car sits idle the rubber belt can crack and dry up and then i would go less then the recomendid 5 years or some are only 4 years or 40,000 miles. like goeffreyh said the cost of replacing the timing belt is too much and the head will need to be taken off and replace the valves normaly 3 for a 4 cylinder. if you take the timing belt cover off you can do a visual inspection somtimes it is worth having a look. replace timing belt cover. gerry
