It will come out the top. pulley side up and ears of alt , one behind valve cover and the other to the passenger side after you remove the ps resv. and bend down the ground cable strap bracket.

The coupling your refferring to is the pulley,right?
If you have a special pulley remover,you can use
the old pulley on the new alternator. Sometimes
it's just better left to professional mechanics. Good luck.

Why ,I have to ask,would you replace several alternators on a vehicle. First you test,the one, on the vehicle or remove,the first one and have the auto part store check it out. If bad,you buy one new one, and test it,before you leave the store. Upon installing the first one, you run several on car tests, to confirm it works properly. If not,then you need a diagnostic chart,usually an emissions manual,to find the problems. Your best bet is to leave it up to a repair shop,if throwing parts at your vehicle is your attempt to repair it. What your doing lacks common sense.
