You must have the system scanned with a special scan tool to see what ABS fault codes are present and then based on those codes diagnose the problem.

I have a hard brake petal on my 05 Dodge Durango

A hard brake pedal is usually caused by an air leak from engine to brake servo (brake booster) or a defective servo/booster itself.

Have a look in your engine bay. The brake servo is usually at the rear, on the engine wall. It's circular, has the brake master cylinder attached. There should be a black hose/tube .. check that tube for security and splitting. You may have to change the servo/booster.

Here's some generic images of what it looks like:

While sitting at lights even pressure on brake pedal. brake pedal sinks to floor . engine revs drop to 600 rpm's . when brake pedal is released engine rev's increase to 900 rpm's? Dealer mechanics say it...

not normal at all,a couple of causes 1 small valve at the front of the servo unit,2busted pipe coming from the servo unit,3the servo unit itself needs replaced.so where is the servo unit?.if you lift the hood you will see in front of the brake pedal only inside the engine compartment look closely and try to judge it ,its about the size of a bottom of a small sauspan only about 4/5 times the thicknes, thats your servo and that where your problem is.adrian,,,

Clutch pedal box has snapped off its mounting on vw polo

1-disconnect battery. 2- remove all lower dash plastic panels. 3- disconnect all plugs on steering coloumn. 4- remove shear bolts on steering coloumn, easy with a long 8" sharp chisel (get 2 x new shear bolts £0.50p each). 5-loosen & remove bolt at steering rack in drivers footwell, mark position of spline before removing this makes it east to refit (tipex). 6- pull steering coloumn out towards you & it will slide off the bush quite easy. 7- loosen clutch cable adjustment & remove cable nipple at pedal. 8-remove clutch pedal. 9- pull brake pedal out of plastic insert, this will break there is no way to remove this without breaking the plastic clip. get a new brake pedal clip insert for a Mk 3 golf £4 its the same (dont let VW sell you a new pedal) 10- remove 5 x nuts holding pedal box to bulkhead/brake servo. 11- cut 2 x cable ties holding throttle wiring & disconnetc plug above heater on drivers side. 12- push/pull brake servo slightly out of bulk head. 13- remove pedal box.
Cause of the problem- The clutch bracket is only held to the pedal box with 2 x spot welds & a 10mm tack on the top corner.
Repair- Fully Weld the clutch bracket to the pedal box. Great repair.
refitting reverse of above.
Duration around 6/8 hours Less if you get the spare parts before you start.
I wasted time trying to remove the brake pedal without breaking the clip impossible to do even with theVW tool. £4 on a new clip is well worth it.

How do i bleed the brake system

First, before you do the bleeding, did you "open" any of the lines? Was there a caliper replaced?

If no line was opened, you do not need to bleed the brakes.

If so, please let me know and I will post the bleed procedures for you.

Why are you thinking about bleeding the brakes? Spongy brake pedal?

I have a 1996, 190 transit. When I press the brake pedal it goes straight to the floor without any pressure. Ive bled the brakes, but it hasn`t made any difference. Is it the servo?

It is the Brake Master cylinder or you have lost Vacum to the Master Cylinder. replace the master cyclinder and you should be ok.

The brake hose maybe bad replace it. They can claps on then self inside the hose. One work to check is have someone push the brake paddle down and release it if the rotor is hard to turn, open the bleeder vale if fluid comes out and the rotor turns freely that you problem.
