Sounds like short in "closed door switch" in door frame. or perhaps loose or bad switch. look for a plunger or fip type switch. works like the "light off" switch in your refrigerator.

Sounds like a bad switch or needs adjustment .
On the back of the door their is a plunger type switch so when the door is closed its in off position when the door is open it slides out and makes the buzzers and some lights come on .I would start their.

I have a inttermittent door ajar that flickers on my dashbord while hitting bumps is it a loose connection

You need to replace that door ajar switch if it is a door like the front doors and not a side sliding door, which is caused by a worn door sensor contact plate.

Got a lancer 2000 sedan and my door light stays on after I close the doors. i think its the drivers doo sensor because when I slam it it goes off, but when I drive along the light comes back on. can anyone...

The door ajar sensor that is causing the problem is located on the door latch mechanism inside the door. Yes they do have a sticking issue that is why you have this problem.

Door open light on in the dash lights flicker on and off. but doors r closed

one of the door ajar switches are not adjusted properly and the door is not contacting the swtch enough to open it completely. close all doors and have someone watch the light and go around to each door and just start bumping the door and see which switch it is. replace or adjust the switch to better contact the door when it is closed

While driving door ajar chime goes off, clicking sound form behin

this problem is caused by a tiny micro switch that is attached to the door latch inside the doors, the stick and give this false warning, have replaced dozens of them, it is called the "door ajar" switch oddly enough :)

Message center says driver door ajar but shut tight

this problem is caused by a small switch inside the door that is attached to the door latch mechanism, it is called a door ajar/coutresy light switch, there are one of these for each door, the dealer can run a test that will id the bad switch very quickly, the output from these switches goes through a control called a lighting control module (LCM), it has the ability to test itself.

1998 F-150 Door Ajar Light Problems

inside the doors is a Small twist in button switch on the door latch assembly that turns on the doom and key buzzer, they stick and make a poor connection, this causes your problem, i have replaced 100's of them, u will have to detrim the door to get at it. The switch is about $10 and u can get it from most parts stores, here is a picture. remember there is one on each door latch.
