Where is the leak coming from on my 1995 honda accord lx

oil leaks around the filter generally mean that the oil filter is too tight and the gasket is damaged , filter installed on a dry gasket, -damaging the gasket, lip of the filter is faulty--manufacturing problem, the old gasket for the filter was not removed before fitting a new filter--- gasket squeezing out
remove the filter, best replace with a new filter, remove any old gasket stuck to the housing, put a thin film of oil on the new gasket and screw up to touch then 1/4 turn ( fitting instructions on the box or filter)
do not over tighten

What could be cause of oil leaks around filter, all of the expected things to check have been done. New filter, checked to make sure no double gasket etc. and still leaking. Could it be comign from an

If at filter it could be only what comes out (oil drip) when changing oil filter. If filter is good then use oil filter tighter tool to tighten the filter snugger. Make sure its not the oil bolt that is leaking, which could leave that pesky oil spots. Tighten it or replace oil bolt with new one.

Valve gasket

the dealer will charge you around $100, if you went to autozone and got the gasket set I expect the cost to be about $30 and with acouple simple tools you can do it yourself, just be sure to clean all the old gasket and oil from the sealing areas.

Miss fire but no lights on changed the plugs and fuel filter also changed dist cap also checked for a good spark

A lean fuel mixture will not yield poor fuel economy but a misfiring cylinder will. You have already replaced the coils and the plug leads to the cylinders in question so they should not be an issue.Do the codes still indicate a misfire on cyls. 2 & 3? If so have you looked at the plugs? Has the oil leak around the plugs been stopped? Are they oil fouled? Could the pooling oil around the plugs be shorting the spark discharge to ground?or Valve Cover gasket is leaking. That's why you see some motor oil in the sparkplug sleeve (tube). removed the spark plug and My suggestion is to remove the sparkplug in cylinder 2 & 3 or whichever ones that the scanner indicated as "misfiring". Take a look at the sparkplugs and see if there's any oil around it. If you see any traces of oil, that means your gasket is worned out and need to replace.Good Luck in getting your problem fixed. I have a 2000 beetle turbo and just notices it is leaking oil from around the plug which is tight and seeping transmission fluid. Is this going to be a costly fix?

OIL LEAK AROUND THE SPARKS PLUGS COULD BE LEAKING VALVE COVER GASKETS ALLOWING OIL TO SEEP BY GASKET FLOW DOWN AROUND SPARK PLUGS.TRANSMISSION LEAK IS NOT VERY EXPENSIVE LONG AS TORQUE CONVERTER SHAFT SEAL NOT LEAKING WHICH TRANSMISSION HAS TO DROPPED OUT TO REPLACE SHAFT SEAL.IF TRANSMISSION LEAK AROUND FRONT AXLE SEAL IT MAY COST A LITTLE.BUT PAN GASKET LEAK OR OIL COOLER LINES WONT COST TOO MUCH NOT HARD TO GET TO REPAIR.PHONE AROUND GET PRICE CHECKS.

In the bottom of the there a slight oil leak i was wondering is it to change the seal in the oil pan

Hello. Check first to make sure that the leak isn't around the oil plug itself. If not, then the fix is to replace the gasket. J.

I just changed the oil in my '98 dodge stratus and now the oil just drains out. I think it might be the rear camshaft seal but I'm not 100% sure. Anyone know how to replace that seal or any suggestions...

sound like drain plug is out or loose or leaking around oil filter at gasket did you remove all of the old oil filter gasket and did you prelube the gasket by putting oil on your finger and firmly seating the gasket
