My 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the 5.2L is very difficult to start if it has not been run in the previous 6 hours. Replaced ignition coil but didn't solve the problem. After sitting overnight it

Low fuel pressure.
You need to check the fuel pressure on the first crank and watch it as it is running.
Requires a special gauge.
If it were just a starting problem I would say it could be a pump relay, but not if it runs rough for 5 min.
Might be a dirty filter or problem in the tank.

The first years of that body shape, like the 93 Grand Cherokee, had ecu computer problems. Next time it won't start, check to see if the check engine light does lights up on the dash, when you turn the ignition on, before cranking. If it does not, the fuel pump will not kick on, until that check engine light does come on. It's referred to as the delayed check engine light problem, on early to mid 90's Jeeps. If you find out that is indeed the problem, you can have the ecu computer repaired.

1993 jeep grand cherokee wont start till check engen light comes on

Your ecu computer is in need of repair. You have what is known as the Delayed Check Engine Light problem. There are a few components inside the ecu that are slowly failing and eventually will completely fail. The ignition has to be turned on, for a few minutes, and the jeep won't start until the check engine light eventually comes on. This is because the ecu feeds power to the fuel pump and injector relays and won't feed power until that light comes on. Have it repaired.

When i tearn the key on the fuel pump doesent come on and theres no spark it will roal over but wont start

Your ecu is going bad or has gone totally bad. If your check engine light does not come on when you turn the ignition to on, before cranking, then the ecu is bad. If you leave the ignition in the on position, for up to 30 minutes, and the check engine light finally comes on and then the jeep starts, then the ecu can be repaired. Try that and see if it works.

Wont start but if you let it sit for a few minutes with key on then it will start its like the fuel pump is not getting power until it warms up

Your ecu is going bad and in need of repair since it will not send power to the fuel pump relay until the check engine light illuminates on the dash board. It might take only a few minutes now but it will probably take longer as it gets worse. Check to see if it is the check engine light no coming on for a few minutes, on your jeep, and then you will know for sure that's your problem.

Your ECU is going bad and needs to either be replaced or repaired. That 'no check engine light for 20-30 minutes' is a common problem that tells it's an ECU problem. The ECU won't power the fuel pump and other relays until the check engine light illuminates on the dash.

this could be several things. ours is in the shop now; the problem was the wiring harness to the fuel pump has an open circuit; and good luck figuring that one out-- not the best wiring design. but, if this is your problem, you should correct it quick, before the poor voltage going to the fuel pump burns up the pump motor-- list $$$$ on the pump is +/- $400. while you are trying to start the truck, you can hear the pump starting for two seconds, to pressurize the lines, then it stops until u crank the engine. have a helper crank it over while u stick your ear on the tank [ no im not kidding] and listen for the pump running. if u dont hear it, then the pump isnt getting power. check the relay, then check for continuity in the harness.

Check the wiring, it may also be a computer module issue. Check the fuel that comes to the fuel filter for debris. There might dirt accumulated in the fuel tank.
