First off there are no plug wires. The plugs are also new. the old ones where worn, but they looked fine. No oil deposits etc. I need to get responses asap. I,m pressured to get my vehicle on the road

  • Eric Vanderberry Sep 11, 2010

No plug wires to test. The coil pack sits on top of the plugs. It has three coils, that operates two cylinders each. They are brand spankin new.

  • Eric Vanderberry Sep 11, 2010

New injector for that cylinder. The 02 sensor should show up on the scan right?

Have you changed plug and wire on that cyclinder? Clean or replace the injector or have an injector pulse and leak check?
Have you tested your 02 sensors?

First off what is the model and year of the vehicle? How many miles? Have you checked the spark plug? When is the last time the plugs and wires were changed? That would be the first thing to check/change. Once I have more information I can try and assist you further.
Thank you,
Lee

Have you had a compression test done yet?

also did you make sure to reset the codes after all this? If you didn't the code would still appear even if the problem is gone. There is a known problem with the heat shields on these jeeps giving a false positive for this type of problem, when there really is nothing to worry about. Is the jeep running wrong at all?
    Thanks,
    Lee

Miss fire on #6 cylinder. Potential causes. Which cylinder is 6?

The #6 cylinder is the last cylinder on the right side while you stand in front of the vehicle. Firing order is 1 - 6 - 5 - 4 - 3 - 2. Potential cause and best case scenario is you have a defective spark plug causing improper ignition. Another scenario is the #6 coil pack is defective. If you have not replaced the spark plugs (30,000 mile intervals), then the issue may be just the spark plug(s).
