Question about 2001 Nissan Maxima
If the security light is solid when you turn the key to the "start" position, then it has to do with your security/key system. I believe you will need to take your key to your local dealer with the VIN number and proof of ownership and they will reset you keys' computer chip.

Primary ignition fault. Reasons: Bad distributor cap (most likely) or ignition control module/ignition coil.

OK, i had this problem with my 99 maxima 6 month ago and i made new key at the dealer (150 $) , and the problem was gone for few months, but 2 months a go the same problem is back and i dont know what to do (the car stars after i try few times) and it drives with the security light on ????

bank 1 refers to the side of the engine that #1 cylinder is on , and sensor 2 refers to downstream , after the catalytic converter. , this link shows bank 1 on a 2001 nissan maxima V6 being on the firewall side . if you had a 4 cylinder it would be downstream after the catalytic converter .

If you havent already try to change the transmission filter.Sometimes when the filter gets dirty fluid pressure is comprimised and certain pumps and solenoids which control shifting inside the transmission function off of the fluid pressure,
