Good Evening, the location of your starter is under the front side of your engine and the best way to get at it is from both top and the bottom. The bolts are easier to take out from the top and the starter comes out relatively easily from underneath, remember to disconnect the battery before working to avoid shorting out against grounds. Some times it is easier to remove the oil filter for extra room. Be careful with your clipped in wire and not to overtighten the battery wire going to the starter when installing the new one (because you could break the solenoid). Hope this helps, have a good evening.
Thanks,
Joey

Starter is located at the rear of the motor just before the transmission on the bottom side. Take out the two bolts, disconnect the one wire and remove it. Make sure that you first disconnect the positive cable to the battery. 99 percent of all starters are held in place by just 2 bolts.

My starter is going and some times it starts today it won't. I read if I hit it it may start but I can't locate. The starter to hit it. Where is the starter located?

I had a similar problem, hitting it may work some times but I think the contacts in the solenoid are worn out, replace the contacts, I managed to buy them at the local Auto shop, but not easy to find, or replace the starter.
Removing and replacing the starter is not so easy.
Hope this helps.

Car wont start. tested battery and it is good. replaced battery terminals, but still wont start. headlights and all other lights work. assuming it could be the starter. need to know where the starter...

This job is easy to do, dissconnect battery terminal wait 3 min, before continuing, next remove cooler line clamp off starter, then remove the cable wire and the small wire from the starter, next remove the two bolts holding the starter and starter is removed,
the location is at rear of the engine, if you look at where the engine and trany meet the starter should be it thatr area at the top,

Where is the starter located?

The starter is located on the drivers side right below your manifold and right above the start of yur exhaust. Good luck trying to replace. I have no idea how to do this other than to drop the exhaust...

How To Remove

1. Removed the (-) wire on the battery.
2. Disconnect 02 sensors (2)
3. Lower exhaust front left pipe (5 nuts) 3 in front flange 2 on rear. Needed 10" extension and I think the nut was 17mm
4. Remove starter (2 bolts) 14 mm
5. Remove wires on starter. One is a plug in and the other is attached with a nut 12mm. I found it easy to remove it once starter was loose I could get a better view of it.
Good Luck

HOW 2 REMOVE STARTER

Starter motor?
Easy job! Simply
disconnect the battery wires.
Disconnect the solenoid wires at
the back of the starter. (if you don't
know its location, simply trace down the
positive battery cable to where it ends, and
that bulky guy is the starter)
The starter motor i think, is held to the
engine block by 14mm bolts. Remove those
bolts and take starter out.

Location of the starter

PROCEDURE TO LOCATE AND REPLACE THE STARTER
Under the car, you will see a plastice cover between the main frame beam and the underside of the radiator. This will come off ( 2 Wing Nuts) for easy access to the starter. You can now remove the two wires that go to the starter solanoid. Now you must remove the splash guard on the starter. This is a cover plate that consist's of two screws. Now you can see two main bolts that hold the starter on. Remove these bolts and the starter can be removed from the underside of car.

2002 mitsubishi galant, how to replace the starter

It's fairly easy, albeit a tight fit. Before you start, be sure to disconnect the battery. The starter is located between the firewall and the engine, underneath fuel injection assembly. Stick your hand in there and you should be able to feel how the starter is positioned. There are 2 or 3 bolts holding the starter and they're easy to remove. You need to disconnect the wire on the starter coil (the coil is located on top of the starter itself).
Now the fun part: removing the the starter itself. The way I did it is by wriggling it out the open space on the left side of the engine, hence the tight fit. Move any cables or wires that may get in the way for more room. (Important advice: Remember, patience is a virtue!)And there ya go! To install/re-install the starter just do the reverse. It's a lot easier to put it back in than removing it. Good luck!

94 toyota carolla starter clicks eventualy starts

You have two options: replace the starter (easiest, but most expensive), or replace the contacts (cheaper, but more work involved).
In any case, you have to remove the starter. Disconnect the battery BEFORE you start. Locate the starter and remove the wires going to it. The starter is held onto the transmission with 2 large bolts. Remove both, and slide the starter out.

If you want to change the contacts, observe the starter, locate a metal plate held on with 3 bolts. Remove the bolts and the plate. You will now see a plunger, and 2 copper colored contacts. Those are what needs to be replaced. Changing the contacts is easy, just do one at a time, and ensure that all insulators are installed properly on reassembly.
