checked the fuses all okay, check the relays even switched one relay to the relay that controls the air and stereo, i don't know if the color make a difference but that didn't do anything, we took the dash apart and check all the wire harnesses and everything looks fine! i think that i might try buying a new relay and see if that helps. this morning when i started my car there was nothing when i drove a block it turned on and worked all the way to work. when i went to lunch no power and drove around for 30 minutes no power, after work started car, no power drove a few feet and started. This time when i got home i shut off car turned it back on worked did it a few times and work went out 30 hour later and it does not work! the clock works but nothing else! do you think buying a new relay might be the way to go?

Check your fuse's first then start to look at relays and then the control switch's or panel on the dash.

Hope this helps, let me know if you need more information.

No the problem wont be the relay it will be the dash control unit it may have a loose connection or it will be the circuit board which maybe faulty. But I would get this part checked and reprogrammed, this is a module which controls the radio and the A/C.

First you must check that the fuse which is located in the fuse block on the left hand side of the dash is ok, then if this has power to either side of it then you will need to check the connector which is on the back of the dash control, you will have to remove the center console and the center fascia panel to get to it.

The controller is all part of where the radio and A/C switch etc are.

Mass air flow sensor not working properly

hi no more sin, the camshafts have the variable valve timing, not the
air mass sensor which should be a black box at the end of the air

get it scanned by a technician to make sure you get the right
information as to where to start.

96 lexus ES300 is losing fuel efficiency, what would be the cause?

Check the spark plug leads and spark plug, it may be putting too much fuel in the engine and not enough spark or power to ignite it leading to lower economic driving, also make sure you get the timing checked as this can set it off.

Make sure there is no black smoke coming out of the engine. It will be losing a slight amount of power from somewhere where it is either combustion related or even something simple like the aircon unit.

Your not running with A/C on? this saps enough power from the car

1998 Ford Contour rough idle when i turn my air conditioning on

Rough idleing, especialy when the air condition is on, is really quite normal for old cars. I drive a 96 corolla and when the airconditioner is turned on, the car will make a deep whining noise. It should stop when shifted into drive(automatic) or gear(manual) in most cases, it is not a serious problem. However, if you feel the idle is too rough, i would recommend fuel additives designed for highmilage cars. I use fuel injector cleaner. after many uses, my rough idle ended. If after trying this, you find the idle to still be to high or rough, have a talk with your local mechanic. Hope this helps

How do i replace the bulb in the digital clock on a 96 (s reg) honda civic thanks

The digital clock assemblies are a single unit - if the LED panel inside the clock fails, then you would replace the entire clock assembly.

Ensure you check the clock fuse hasn't blown, before suspecting the actual clock as faulty.

1997 Toyota 4 whl. Drive/6 cylinder..clock & radio light problem?

The clock unit is just defective and needs replaced. It is pretty common on these 3rd gen (96-02 Runners) -they are not cheap so many folks have just given up on them. is a good place to look for one or a local junk yard if you need to replace it. While you have the dash apart for the clock then ...

Your radio issue is likely in the unit itself-and replacing the radio head unit with a more modern unit would likely be around the same cost as any fix of the old unit. Since many car stereo outlets install for free your only limitation is how much you choose to spend or the features needed. I seriously doubt Toyota can fix your light in the old stereo for any less than a new radio itself....but of course call the dealership and ask to be sure before you go spending big money....
