Yes, you can remove the bottom pan and replace the valve assembly! It works as a pressure regulator This replaced the throttle pressure valve, and the vacumn modulater on the older models.

check for power at the plug that attaches to the fan motor. if it has power then replace the fan. if not then trace the wire back to the relay to find the short.

I change my transmission oil filter in my 99 Buick Regal cause it wouldnt go forward and i found a big metal piece could it be the problem

Ohmygosh! Yes it could, and probably is. I bet if you took it to a mechanic he would identify it as part of your gear or clutch pack. Save that piece and show it to a transmission shop. I'm afraid you may need a rebuild or replacement transmission.
BTW, its not the magnet in the pan, is it? If it is, then you may be O>K>

Front brake pads 99 Regal

Its very similar if not the same. That style Impala uses the same brake and axle assembly as the Regal so you should be in familiar territory once the wheels are off. Good luck!

Im having a slipping and jumping problem with my 99 buick regal transmission what could be causing this?

check your transmission oil level, try servicing the transmission (oil and filter change). This may or may not resolve your issue. If problem persist have it checked by a specialist.

I would change your plugs and wires with original a/c delco factory wires and plugs. My buick did the same and got corrected with factory wires and plugs.I tried most of the after market and they didn't do the job.

My auto trans makes a thud when shifting out of low gear and when shifting from park to reverse or drive. Is this a major problem or a minor one which can be fixed without taking the transmission apart?...

This problem is called slippage. It can be caused by old/burned transmission fluid or something much more serious.

If you are lucky, simply changing the fluid in your transmission will do the trick. Any autoparts store will have a kit that allows you to change your fluid through the dipstick if your transmission isn't equipped with a drain plug (many aren't).

If this doesn't work, then you will have to take your car to a transmission specialist.

I hope this helps.
