Question about 1991 Toyota Pickup
Drain the radiator and remove the lower hose to take the alt out from underneath. Back in the same way.

1st u need to disconnect the Negative battery cable. IF you have a jumper pack and don't wish to loose radio presets install the jumper pack before u remove the negative cable and leave it attacked to it till u reinstall the cable on the battery when you are finished.
2nd you will need to gain access to the belt that drives the alternator. Loosen any bolts to slacken that belt and move aside.
3rd remove the alternator power cable and connector on the back side of the alternator.
4th Loosen the 2 or 3 bolts that keep the alternator tight.
5th Remove bolts with caution not to drop the alternator.
6th Reverse procedure to install.
