I have a 2001 ford crown vic 4.6 I have a crank no start and scan tool not working on this one

You will need spark, fuel and correct timing. Check the inertia switch in the trunk first. turn off then back on. Take off the plastic engine cover, turn on the key, depress fuel rail schrader valve and fuel should come out WARNING: fuel is possibly at almost 50 psi! If fuel is there, you have fuel. Pressure could be low, but not likely. Does it start now? if no, remove a spark plug coil, put an old correctly gapped plug in it and ground the plug (near the threads). Is there spark? if no, ignition issue, if yes, does it start? If no, reset computer by removing negative battery cable from battery for 3 minutes. Put back on. Does it start? You just have to keep troubleshooting until you have fuel and spark present. It is a remote possibility if you have these 2 things that timing could be off from a timing chain failure. Take #1 plug out *farthest plug forward. Does engine build full compression when the harmonic balancer indicator reaches zero? If yes, it should be running. Other possibilities; Fuel contaminated. Low fuel pressure. Bad or clogged injectors. Bad coils. These are less likely. Good luck to you!

2003 ford crown victoria shuts off when driving i try to start it up it just cranks but wont start. Already changed the fuel pump and spark plugs and that dont seem to work. Any one please Help??

You'll first need to find out if you are lacking fuel or spark to know where to go next. Do a basic test for fuel pressure with a gauge and spark at the plugs when it fails to start.

Trying to locate spark plugs on 99 crown vic police interceptor engine

They should be mounted down in the cylinder heads, you'll need to remove each coil pack. A long extension and 5/8in spark plug socket and an extendable magnet will help. Also, you may need to remove the fuel rail to get to move the coil packs.

I have a 2001 crown victoria. and it wont start. i smell fuel what do that mean we think it might be the throttlebody. or the ejecters. clogged. what should i trys to start. do the ecm or egr have...

the rule is checking for spark at the spark plugs, if you have spark then check for fuel pressure at the test port on the fuel rail.
since you smell gas, you need to check to see if there is any fuel leak.
if you don't have spark but you have fuel pressure then it's more likely the ignition module.
if you have spark but don't have gas then check the inertia switch and fuel pump. assuming that you already check your fuses.
