Just replaced valve covers on Nissan Maxima 2002 due to misfire. Now it smokes and burns oil every start? What's should I do .

If is is only smoking when you first start it up. Most likely the valve guide seals, oil is leaking into the cylinders and smoking when you start it up.

Honda odessey engine code p3100

There is no p3100 code!!

I think you copied this wrong. the code is p0301, which is a common one.

The P0301 code means that the cylinder 1 is misfiring or is randomly misfiring. Start by checking for intake leaks an if no leaks are found the next step is to replace the spark plugs on cylinder 1. If the problem persist more tests needs to be done to diagnose problem.

Possible causes
- Faulty spark plug 1
- Clogged or faulty fuel injector 1
- Faulty ignition coil 1
- Fuel injector 1 harness is open or shorted
- Fuel injector 1 circuit poor electrical connection
- Ignition coil 1 harness is open or shorted
- Ignition coil 1 circuit poor electrical connection
- Insufficient cylinder 1 compression
- Incorrect fuel pressure
- Intake air leak

Most likely cause:
Faulty spark plug 1 or Faulty ignition coil 1 (Ignitor coil)

Either are easy fixes. Start with a new spark plug. If the problem continues replace the coil. Pic below. new about $30-$40.

06 cobalt error code number 1 cylinder

My dad had a similar issue with his 2003 Vibe. Something broke and oil was leaking in to the spark plug and keeping it from igniting properly fusing the cylinder. The car still runs but with one less cylinder, talk to your dealership to fix the issue.

2007 Vibe.. Engine light comes on, vehicle starts to stall, then continues to run but runs rough. Code shows ignition coil faulty but have replaced, checked plugs, etc. but error continues same problem,...

you change the coil but not the module or it is a coil pack assembly
module is the primary circuit and coil is secondary circuit you need the both to fire at cylinder

Your ignition switch is made up of two parts the switch itself and the cylinder. You stated you replaced the cylinder but it's the switch (housing that cylinder goes into) that needs to be replaced.

Ignition problem car runs on two cylinders randomly

if one spark plug were fouled or one plug wire was arcing to the engine then 2 cylinders would not work, the spark is controlled by the computerif its been 30,000 or sole miles since plugs and wires were changed change them it might fix it but at least you will know it isnt that and plugs would have been close to worn out anyway
