Unhook the battery for about 30 minutes, then hook it up and start the car. sometimes this will reset the light.

I am sorry it did not work, but you will probably have to have someone with a scan tool to reset the light. maybe someone else here has another option.

Change front brakesensor saab 9-5

Step 1 - First, you must locate the malfunctioning wheel sensor. This is done by using a scan tool or multi-meter. Plug in an ABS scan tool and follow the prompts to retrieve the trouble code associated with a failed wheel speed sensor.

Step 2 - If a scan tool is not available you can use a voltage multi meter. Disconnect the wiring connector at each wheel. Next attach the meter leads to each of the ABS connector terminals that lead to the wheel sensor being tested.

Step 3 - Once the failed wheel sensor has being discovered remove the sensor mounting bolts, or remove the tire and bearing hub. (Some ABS wheel sensors are intergraded into the wheel bearing hub)

Step 4 - Next, Inspect the sensor stator ring to confirm that there is no damage existing to the ring. If the ring shows signs or damage replacement is required.

Step 5 - Then, reinstall the new sensor or wheel bearing hub and reassemble.

Step 6 - Reconnect the electrical connector.
Once the new sensor is installed the system should run tests confirming is operating normally. At this point the warning light will go out. Some systems might require a ABS scan tool to reset the system, but this not typical.

I had a broken wire leading to the wheel sensor on my 96 ranger. I repaired the wire. How do I reset the abs light?

Whatever pulled and broke the wheel sensor wire might've also damaged the wheel sensor itself. The abs system does a self check at each startup and the light would be off if the wire was repaired properly and everything was now ok. If you can read the abs codes, it will tell you what is still bad in the abs system.

First try rotating the tires to the rear. Does it go away? If you apply the brakes does it pull to the left? Could be a draging caliper or the slides may be hanging up.

2001 GMC SIERRA . ABS LIGHT STAYS ON

Wheel speed sensors misadjusted, damaged , or metal shavings and other debree, since they are magnetic can give false readings from one of the wheel circuits. Over sized tires can give of false speed readings as well. there are many other causes including bad relay, control module, e.t.c. It is best to have the proper scan tool to diagnose an ABS problem

ABS error code 41 & 42

41 indicates Rpm sensor, at left front wheel, 42, is right front sensor. I'd check for dirt in and around both, clean connections, and wire brush or whatever the toothed ring to clean it all up, then clear codes & see what happens.

Service Brake system flashed three seperate times over 24 hours

2 suggestions:

(1) I would suggest someone scan the ABS system for codes. I Have an '03 silverado 2500HD Crew cab, and it needs an EBCM (Electronic Brake Control Module) "ABS module". "Service Brake System" message on dash, ABS and Brake warning lamps lit as well. May be the R/F ABS wheel speed sensor, but what you described happen, shouldn't have caused damage to it.
(2) If the aftermarket rim and tire combo are larger than stock (larger overall diameter), then this may affect the way your PCM functions. You can reprogram the PCM to recognize larger diameter running gear so trans shift points and the speedometer and such can function properly.
I hope this helps.
