Question about Nissan Sentra

The radiator fans wont turn on a=and the car over heats i have test for power to the realys and there is power, iv replaced the relays and the fuses and the fans still wont activate

My 01 toyota corolla le radiator fans wont work


Using a test light connect the lid to NEGATIVE and start the engine with A/C on.back probe the positive terminal on the fan.If no power test the fuse. if fuse OK switch the relay with the horn relay and test again. if you have a power to the fan connector switch the test light lid to POSITIVE on you battery and test for good ground to the fan.some times ground wire can corrode and create a lot of problems. If you have good Power and Ground replace the fan.

Having a problem with the electric fan? Here's what to check: first make sure fan is free-wheeling. Spin it by hand. If no obstructions, use jumper leads off the battery to test fan motor. If nothing, motor is bad. If fan operates off the battery, find the radiator fan relay under the hood, and pull it out. One relay terminal will have a hot at all times power source, probably from a fuse link or a maxi-fuse in the fuse/relay box. Check that one terminal is hot at all times, using a voltmeter or test light. If you have air conditioning, turn the AC on, key on. Now, two terminals at relay should show power-the power feed source, and the signal from computer to turn the relay on.
Didn't say what kind of car or year you have, but here is how an older Nissan turns the fan on, without using the computer, and with no AC: the relay signal to shoot power to the fan comes from a thermal switch mounted in the radiator. When coolant reaches 194 degrees F., the thermal switch will close contacts internally, passing power to the relay's coil side of relay. Relay is energized and passes power to the fan motor.
For your car, you will have to check a wiring diagram to see how the cooling fan circuit is set up. The fan relay may be triggered by the computer or by a coolant sensor somewhere in the coolant system.

Car keeps over heating


well for the fans it would be relays and they are located under the hood in the fuse box there are proabbly 2 of them id replace the relays if that doesnt do it then the fans burnt out

Radiator fan and condenser fan wont run


There are relays for both fans under the hood. There is also a fuse box under the hood, and a fuse box under the steering wheel to the right side. The fans are controlled by a temperature switch located on the radiator as well. Check all of these items. The box with the realys says "fan relays" on the cover. THe main fuse box under the hood is also labeled. Everything is labled as to what it is. If fuses and relays are okay, check that temp switch. if the fans do not realize that the car is hot, then they will never turn on.

P1491 diagnostics code for 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee



Trouble Code: P1491 You PCM does not sense current to radiator fan when it turns it on. Is the fan coming on or not? Usually not when you have this code. Problem can be with the fuse, relay, wiring or fan itself. First check the fuse. If good, next try swapping the relay with another one in the engine compartment relay box, such as the horn relay.
Let the car warm up and see if the fan will come on. If yes, get a new relay. If not, either use a test light to see if there is voltage at the fan connector when the engine is on and hot, or else test the fan motor by hotwiring it to the battery. If none of this works, please get back to me for how to troubleshoot the wiring.

Engine heat get high & whats kind of fan radiator suitable


i am familiar with the car and the problem . the best thing to do is go to the local parts store and ask for an adjustable thermostat fan switch its about 40 dollars you wire it to the battery the fan and a ground mount it near the battery start the car and adjust the knob to the desired fan turn on temp . to fix the setup you have there is a fan turn on temp switch on the passenger side head toward the rear should have one wire on it that grounds the relay on the radiator support . 87 should have one fan one relay sometimes the relay burns and melts the plug you have to buy a replacement plug from a parts store along with a relay so to test it ground the sensor wire with the key on and fan should turn on if it does that's the problem you could also buy a low temp one from summit racing.com the fan will turn on sooner if it still wont turn on the relay is the next culprit check if you have power and a ground with key on at relay plug if you do the relay is bad change it . hope this helps

Radiator fan and a/c fan does not turn on and car overheats.


Check both fans to see that they turn freely (when engine is cold). Replace a fan that is stuck or hard to turn. If you find and fix any bad fans, then look for the fan relay which is buried behind the air filter box next to the radiator. You have to remove the air filter box to get to this relay which is a solid-state device. The connector plugs into the bottom of the device and it controls both fans together. A bad relay will look fried with heat discoloration. Blow out the radiator core with compressed air from the engine side to get rid of the accumulated bugs and other debris.

98 honda civic engine overheats, cooling fan does not turn on


Under the hood of the engine, close to the battery, there is a black plastic box. This is the Fuse Relay and Control Unit Box location. Remove this Box cover. The top of this box shows which fuses or relays control the different electrical components within the engine. On the Drivers's Side of this box (right-side if you are leaning over the bumber and radiator, and facing the windshield) you will see a radiator fan relay. You can pull this and take it to your local Parts store and ask them to test it. If it tests bad, then buy another (likely $20+). Do NOT keep driving your car until you get your radiator fan fixed, <this image should help you>80dd710.png because over-heating the engine could ruin your engine ($$$$).

Coolant Fan Wont Turn On


if you replaced the relay because it melted that means there was a short in that circuit. if the water pump is circulating the coolant properly then there is either a faulty temp sending unit on the intake manifold. a faulty sensor on the fan itself, or there is a blockage in the system. if all of these are ok then that means that you have a air bubble in the system. to correct this start the engine with the radiator cap off turn your heater on to high fan high heat and run the system. when the engine reaches temp the upper radiator hose should get real hot ,if it doesn't then the thermostat did not open. replace the thermostat. if it gets hot then let the engine run for a bit top off the coolant shut vehicle down and replace radiator cap this should solve the problem
