Thanks for your quick answer, I have tried your suggestion without succesful results at local level, so could you please tell me how can these parts should be ordered and what is the technical name of them? My lexus AD 1994 is overheating. What should I do?

Hello Malena,

Here are some tips to try, to narrow the search for the fault.

1. check coolant niveau, refill to the mark, see if there are leaks anywhere from your car.

2. take out the thermostat (usually located inside a "house" where the rubber hoses from the radiator, meets the block), and put it in boiling water to see if it works(should open at a given temp). or replace with a new one.

3. Do you hear a whining or grinding noise from the waterpump? If so, the waterpump should be replaced.

4. It can also be trapped air in the system, squeese the rubber hoses, and refill coolant.

If there are none of the above, there might be a more serious problem, like head gasket or cracked head.

I hope this helped, and good luck, hope everything works out fine for you.

Best regards

My 1999 Subaru Impreza sport wagon had a misfire in cylinder 2, after I changed all four spark plugs and fuel filter the problem got worse. Now the throttle lags and misfires only happen when the car...

Check the firing order tu might have installed it differently, clean the Hi-TENSiON wire terminals on the distributor cap and to spark plugs, oxidation makes contacts to these points might have attributed to the problem! The oil must have leaked from the o-ring seals around the TUBE where u put the spark plugs! It also makes the spark plugs misfires! Replacing these o-ring seals, u have to pull down the valve cover, u will see the rubber around the tube, pull it off and replace w/ new one, clean the area first and put a little silicone sealant! Put everything back! Thats it! Taaah!

Cracked block leaking antifreeze

If the block has cracked then the only cure is to replace the block.

Unsurprisingly, it's very expensive as the engine must be removed and totally stripped down and that often adds further expense as other faults are found.

Usually it's far cheaper and quicker to buy another engine from the breaker's yard, but try to ensure that you get a chance to see and hear it running first. 1994 Escorts aren't that common anymore, even at breaker's yards, so you may end up having to scrap the car and replace it completely but at least with the end of scrappage you can buy something similar with a full MOT for around £250 once more.

My nissan sunny GA15DE was overhauled but started having rough idle immediately threafter. what could have caused this? Gerald

Gerald:Was the engine overhauled because of the smoking problem? If so, the auto trans solution is more likely your problem. Good Luck
    • Automatic transmission? - Check vacuum line to transmission . The only line of rubber going to trans. Located where it attaches ro trans and rwmove it watching to see if it contains any trans fluid. If hose has oil in itm Then replace the valve it was attached to. The valve is called a transmission modulator. The diaphragm is rupture and aloowing engine vacuum to **** and burn the fluid. your trans should be needing fluid too often. Modulator around 12.00 last known.
    • Manual transmission ? - PCVvalve not bafflrd against drawing oil from its location in valve cover.and or Pcv valve is defective. Cheap fix-replace
