F150 Front-end noise

its a ford what do you expect!!!!!!

Hi, Do you know what your mechanic is shiming?

I have a creak during the cold months in my front end. ( 96 4x4 F150 ) It is the coil spring/shock bracket rubbing on the frame. The engineers used rivits? Seems these don't hold it tight enough. I thought about replacing those with bolts but I'm not too bothered by it.

If you're not sure what the problem is you can take a look around those rivits or where the bracket meets the frame for wear. There may be a safety recall on it too. If you're hearing a cluck it should be noticable.... Good luck.
