Is there any way you can explain or show me a diagram of how access and free the blower so I can replace the resistor and the harness? How do I take the dash out or have access to the blower?

This work too in other problem in the resistor pack. It internally shorted and burned the harness. Once you locate the parts it is only like a 30 min fix.

Under the glove box is the blower motor. There is one red plug, that is for the resistor pack. Under that are two screws holding the resistor pack in. Check to see if the red plug is burned, if it is, replace it. Then replace the resistor. The harness to replace also has two other connectors at the blower motor (one for a relay that is beneath the blower motor and one that actually powers the fan). The harness (for an 06 H3) is part 25867517 and the resistor is part 10397098

Note that the motor is a regulated ground don't apply power to this wire; the brown wire is 12V+ and the Orange wire is regulated ground. Here the diagram

Hope this helps.

You probaly have a bad switch or resisitor.Google your car and blower resistor and you should be able to know where it is and then replace it. If that doesn't work, then your switch is bad.

The fan motor is down on the pass side. follow the 2 wires that come off the motor to the heater fan resistor. If you can unplug that it. Most likely the connector will be burnt and so will the resistor. Replace connector and resistor.

Disconnect orange plug and look at orange plug and the resistor if burn need to replace the resistor and the orange connector. That's your problem. Now if your blower works but no power to a/c switch and you instrument nobles has no lights. Then it's a fuse check #48 and # 57 fuse that controls that Troy

Ineed to replace a blower moter resister. only works on high setting

The blower resistor pack needs to be replaced, it's common for the blower speed resistors to burn up and will need to be replaced. It's easier to replace with the glove box out of the way. gmparts direct has the harness and resistor as a package deal. Their part number is PK15218254.

GM Parts list:

Resistor - p/n 15218254 $8.59*

Connector - p/n 15306069 $30.70*

Wiring harness - p/n 89019124 $20 *

You don't need to remove the glove box, just lay on the floorboard and look up under the dash. There's a 4-wire harness plugged into the resistor assembly (white plastic), in the bottom of the black heater blower shroud. Unplug the harness, remove two small screws, and pull down to remove the resistor assembly.

Good luck and merry xmass.

I have a 2007 H3 hummer, suddenly my fan does

It's the HVAC blower resistor in the air plenum under the glovebox. New resistor and wiring harness is about $70 at the Hummer Dealer.

Heater air fan doesn't come on

First, check the fuse in the underhood fuse block. If it's good, it's probably the blower resistor, which is in the air plenum, under the glove box. It is a six pin red connector. The resistor is about $33 at your Hummer Dealer and if you need the wiring harness due to a burnt connector, it's another $38. Very easy to replace yourself. Good luck.

Blower for hvac will not work?

For an '06 H3: If the fuse is okay (in the underhood fuse block), pull out the HVAC blower resistor and check it for burnt connections. It's located right under the glove box in the air plenum, easily accessed, and has a red male 6pin(?) plug in it. Mine had a burnt terminal that fused the two together. I went to the Hummer Dealer, and bought the replacement resistor and wiring harness. Parts are #10397098 (resistor) @ $37.74 and #25867517 (harness) @ $32.90. Both were easily replaced for a total of $70.64 plus tax. Save yourself $106 per hour labor and do it yourself. Easy fix.

Ac in 2006 hummer went out without warning

I am a Service Advisor for a Hummer Dealer. I can tell you that we have seen some of the 06 h3's with the same problem you are having. The blower motor resistor and harness will probably need to be replaced. The connectors on these have a tendency to melt. If you are still in factory warranty, it will be covered under your warranty, otherwise at the dealer the repair runs around $650.00 parts and labor. Hope this helps.

check the blower speed control, it most likely burned out, also jump battery power direct to the blower and see if it runs, if it does the speed control is defective, if it doesn't the blower motor is toast.
