Question about 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse
Was the car running before the new pump? If yes, recheck the connection at the pump as well as the fuse under the hood.
If not, please read my tips at http://www.fixya.com/cars/r5821173-doesnt_car_start_gasoline_engines and let me know if you have questions.

SOURCE: car will not stay running
ignition timing problem or IDLE KNOB OR SCREW set too low.
you'll need to tune it. and set the idle a little bit higer.

SOURCE: the car wont start when its cold
You can try cleaning the battery terminals, there may be a bad connection. If you get someone to try to start the car while you watch the battery connections, there may be a spark indicating bad connection. Also if any of the terminals heats up, it also shows bad connection

You say you have spark, and fuel, but you also have to check for compression....Get a pressure guage and check each cylinder, or atleast 3 of them..It is very possible that your timing belt has popped..
