SOURCE: 96 pontiac sunfire

YOU HAVE A LEAKING MASTER OR SLAVE CLUTCH HYDRAULIC CYLINDER (AIR LEAKING INTO THE SYSTEM), SINCE THESE ARE ALWAYS REPLACED TOGETHER IT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE WHICH IS THE PROBLEM CYLINDER.

SOURCE: adding transmission fluid to 98 pontiac sunfire

There is a plug located on top of the transmission under the brake master cylinder. It is held in place by a bolt on the side of the transmission near the firewall. Remove the bolt, then remove the plug. Fill it until the fluid comes out of the hole.

1999 sunfire replaced left rear brake line now i can not get fluid to rear brake lines

There is probably an air bubble in there.
Get a partner to push on the pedal as you simultaneously open up the bleeder screw.

One shouldn't have to use the abs brake bleeding procedure if no air got into the abs braking master cylinder area.

Keep trying to manually bleed the air out of the brake line. May have to tilt the car backwards to get the fluid to drip out by itself,
although air in the line can sometimes be difficult to get out after changing the rear brake line.

Good luck on this repair.

How do i change the brakes on a 2000 pontiac sunfire

Pull the wheels off. Remove the calipers. There are usually two bolts. Remove the pads from the holders. Use a c-clamp to depress the piston. Usually you have to crack the brake bleed valve in order to do this. Replace the pads and the holders to hold them in place. Tighten the bolts that hold the caliper. Replace the wheel and lug nuts.

Trying to read error codes 98 pont/sunfire 2.2l

You can't read the codes this way on 95 and newer cars and light trucks (OBD 2 system), you will have to either go to a Kragen auto where they will do it for free or buy a cheap code reader for about $30-40.

Front brakes

on the caliper there should be 2 bolts holding it on. loosen one and pull the other out. lift the caliper up or down remove pads open the master cylinder so that you can compres the piston on the caliper. if you dont open the master sylinder cap it will be very tough. replace pads. tighten bolts nice and snug. then with car off pump brakes till tough. make sure you fill the master sylinder up that way no air gets in to it. if you do you gonna have to bleed the brakes. if that happens start at the passenger side rear then driver side rear then passenger front then driver front. please lemme know if you need help or if i helpd at all
