Question about 1996 BMW 318
The weld for one of the hangers for the exhaust may be broke or it could be the inside of the muffler falling apart. I would take it in to have a new muffler installed and have them check the hangers while it's on a lift. With the car being a 96, the muffler could use a change considering it is most likely burned out.
