Check coils (good spark on plugs), cam sensor and crank sensor. Check connections to the above and continuity of wiring.

This is exactly what is happening to my 2003 Sedona, but because I went to the salvage yard to be my fuel pump motor, I still believe it is the motor, since it has only cost me $20 for the pump and I bought a new filter to rebuild my fuel pump assembly. But maybe I have multiple problems too.

I have since bought a new motor and rebuilt the fuel pump assembly for $17.50 instead of $465. The fan motor infront of the radiator was broken and the main computer shut down the van again because of this problem.

Fuel pump/ relay/ wiring issues

They used the jumper wire to make sure that the fuel pump was running. For engine to run you need compression, air, fuel ,ignition.

Your problem lies with either fuel or ignition, and if you dealer cannot fix but continue to charge you, I would suggest you go elsewhere.

Where is the fuel pressure release valve on a 2004 kia sedona

Remove the rear seat, remove the access cover and disconnect the electrical connector on the fuel pump. Start the vehicle and let it run until it stalls. Disconnect the neg. battery cable. After the repairs are done reconnect the electrical connector and attach the neg. cable.

I have a 2004 kia Sedona and it stalled on the freeway and won't start . I had the timing belt replaced last year. I think its the fuel pump but not sure how do I go about it.

There should be a relay for the pump, if you jumper the relay the pump should run and you could then check fuel pressure with a gauge.

Is theref a way to see if the fuel pump is bad before taking it apart to replace it? This is on a 2004 kia sedona.

there is really no way unless you can get access to the wires to pump on tank. try this, get under car at fuel tank. put hand on tank and have someone turn key to on not start. and if it is working you will feel a vibration in tank. you may have to do this a few times, because a fuel pump only comes on for a few seconds to pressurize fuel line. but while running its on constantly. check the fuse and relay for fuel pump first in fuse box. hope this steers you in the right way! have a good day !!

Vehicle stalled on road-towed in-timing belt had missing teeth-fuel pump had no power--replaced belt-have good compresion-still have no power at fuel pump connector and no spark

Hi,
Sounds like ECU problem.
First, check your fuse box if there are some blown fuse and replace it. If there are no blown fuse the problem would be the ecu computer.
The best advise would be to bring the car to your nearest dealer and have their computer analyzer check your ecu. Thus you will have save time and money from guessing the problem of ignition and power supply of the fuel pump.
Hope tat helps you out!
thanks for using Fixya!

2004 kia sodona was stopped at a stop light with a half a tank of gas and than 5 seconds later gas gage read empty and the fuel light came on

This is nothing more than the tank sending unit that has failed. I would look into a junk yard and see about buying a complete unit(pump/sending unit assembly). It will be substantially less than new. Let me know if you need instructions on repair.

My 2003 kia sedona is shaking and shuts down fuel guage broken

SOUND LIKE FUEL PUMP GOING BAD.YOUR FUEL LEVEL SENDING UNIT IS ALSO GOING BAD ITS PART OF THE FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY.FIRST HAVE CAR SCANNED TO SEE WHAT TROUBLE CODES IS.REPLACE FUEL FILTER AND FUEL PUMP RELAY FIRST THEY ARE CHEAPER ROUTE THEY COULD BE THE PROBLEM.BUT FUEL PUMP COST BETWEEN $300.00 TO $700.00 THAT WHY CHECK FILTER AND RELAY AND HAVE IT SCAN BEFORE BUYING ANY HIGH PRICE PARTS.IF FUEL PUMP GOOD I BELIEVE YOU CAN BUY FUEL SENDING UNIT SEPERATE DONT HAVE TO BUY WHOLE PUMP ASSEMBLY BUT CHECK AROUND SOME AUTO PARTS PLACES WILL MAKE YOU BUY THE WHOLE FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY JUST TO FIX THE FUEL LEVEL SENDING UNIT.

2004 Kia Sedona keeps stalling

Your problem sounds like you have a bad crankshaft position sensor. You will not get a trouble code (check engine light). This will cause the vehicle to suddenly stall. You cannot change the idle on this vehicle, or any FI modern vehicle contrary to a previous post. It is controlled by the engine management computer by way of an idle air control circuit on the throttle body.

Kia sedona won't start

Turn key to on position and listen for fuel pump to turn on, if not check fuel pump fuse and relay. May also be crankshaft sensor. Maybe not getting any spark.
