Question about 1999 Dodge Durango
It can't be a valve/solenoid problem, this would have been detected by the TCM and shown as an error code. No, this is a purely mechanical fault - the clutch plates for the second gear are worn out and must be replaced.
This is going to be expensive, the entire transmission will have to be dismantles to access and replace them.
