If the fan is belt driven the center pulley would drive the fan. the clutch would at the center of the fan and fastened to the pulley. Would be silver with fins on it at the center of the fan.

If it is electric (there may be models with electric fans) there would be no belts driving the fan. instead an electric motor at the center of the fan would do the driving. more horsepower due to parasitic load on the motor, but electric motor do seize up.

I hope i covered everything good luck!

I have a 1990 Nissan Pathfinder. 3.0 Manual Transmission with an intermittant starting glitch. Starter/solonoid and ignition switch have both been replaced with no effect. I cannot seem to find the clutch...

The Clutch/Starter relay has a Blue Top and is located on the right inner fender near two other relays. It has quite large wires (12Ga.) and is often the culprit.

I have a 2001 pathfinder with a overheating condition it has a 3.5liter engine. the rad has been changed i removed the sparkplugs and put air in the clinders no leak present no external leaks what else...

Could be a couple of things...radiator fan...fan clutch, water pump, thermostat...those are just a few....maybe even the relay/fuse for the fan.

This will get you started though.

2004 nissan pathfinder fan noise

I had the same problem in my Pathfinder a couple months ago. It's most likely your fan clutch. I had mine replaced, and the noise went away. And it seems that it is the cold weather causes this.

Fan works on Full Setting ONLY. 98 pathfinder

there is a ballast resistor that should be next to the blower motor that controls the low speeds on the blower. change it and you should be all set.
