Look in your owners manual if manual settings, if auto settings on the steering wheel, using the upper left button scroll through selections until you see settings. It gives you options as far as time you would like the interior lights to stay on, or if you want them off. Sounds like the obvious fix to me. If not, check fuse bank under hood, left side, or on panel located on left side of dash panel when you open the door. The diagram will tell you which one to look at.

2008 kia rio dome light doesnt work when door is open but works manually

You didn't mention if one door or all doors.
If only one door then most likely that door switch.
if none of the doors will make it come on, the see if you have a dome light control as my Kia can be set for all from switch near mirror.
Not thinking a fuse since it will turn on manually.

Touchpad not working on 99 Mercury grand marquee help please

Are you saying that it doesnt light up or that the combination doesnt open doors, trunk etc?

On both of mine they shorted internally from harsh Michigan winters

On one of my cars it kept trying to lock the doors and killed the battery by repeatedly turning on 20+ interior lights all night long...

Alarm set

this is a factory alarm, the problem is the alarm is active, you will need to use the door locks to turn alarm off, insert key in driversdoor and lock and then unlock door this will turn alarm off, if that doesnt work then use pass/side door, the lock has a built in switch that knows when the door is locked or opened, the driversdoor may have a bad switch so inturn the computer thinks the door was forced opened without key and it is turning alarm on, so again use the key to unlock door try the pass/side if driversdoor doesnt work. good day

Dome light doesnt turn on when the doors are opened

If it turns on with the switch at the light, then at least the bulb is good.
If neither door makes it work, then the switch in the light is probably bad.
Use a test light to see if contact is made right, in the fixture.

My interior lights won't turn on when I open door on vw bora

There's a switch that's usually located around the door hinges; you should be able to see it if the door is open. Sounds like the switch is bad, and isn't completing the circuit when you open the one door. Open the door, and see if you can wiggle the switch. If so, see if it will turn the lights on. It won't always do it, but if it does, it will confirm that it is sticking. If not, you may have to take the switch out, and jump the two leads to see if the lights will come on. If they do, go ahead and replace the switch. If not, test the two wires with a multimeter, looking for around 12-16 volts DC. If you have power there, then the switch is bad. If you do not, then you need to trace the wires and find the break in the wires.

My cars inside lights doesnt work when i open the door? or turn it off

have you checked the all the doors? if the fault is only with 1 door look for the "push" switch in the frame of the door, tp fix remove switch and earth lead going to switch, that should fix it, if all doors the feed to light from doors is defective check for a bad contact in light switch on unit, there should be 3 positions
  • one position fully off
  • 2nd position turn on manualy ( this over rides the door functions)
  • 3rd position door activation mode

2002 grand am 2.2 turns over wont start. fuel pressure 55psi, has spark

discovered the hard way- ($85.00 later) Step 1: turn key to "on" position. step 2: open driver door. (security light should be flashing on and off) step 3: wait ten minutes with key in "on position and driver door open. step 4: when 10 minutes is up-(youll know-because security light will have stoped flashing after 10 minutes) close driver door ,turn key to "off" position, then turn key "on" to start. drives me crazy!! I have to do it to mine sometimes 2-5 times a day! GM2.gif doesnt have a fuel reset button etc. like fords do.

1992 towncar inside lamps not working properly

Have you tried turning them of using the lighting controller if i recall correctly just pull it up?.

If this doesnt work your looking at a silly eletrical problem thats making the lights seem theres a door is open most likely.

Open every door and find the button looking bit that pushes in and out and give each one a good push in and out Its probbly just one of these sticking.
