Does the engine race but the car fail to respond immediately as if the engine is connected to the wheels by elastic. If so it is most likely a slipping clutch disc and there is nothing else to do but get it replaced.

2001 golf 1.8 turbo new clutch

When your driving down the road, and you step on the gas, the engine gets faster, but the car don't. The clutch pedal disengages near the very top at this point, instead of near the bottom like a new clutch would.

I have a 2001 grand am se,v6 3.4, my prob, when i step on the gas from stand still the car jerks, its like the engine is choking for gas, i change the gas filter but same problem, worst when the engine is...

Sounds like clogged fuel injectors, run 2 bottles through in 5 gallons of gas and a bottle every fill up after that. Could also be fuel pressure regulator, cant check that without a pressure guage.

When I firt start my 95 Camry, I have to hold the gas down or it will stall. Even after it warms up, the idle is very low and the car has stalled on occasion. Any suggestions on an easy fix?

Most throttle bodies have an idle adjustment screw that controls how fast the engine runs at idle.
All you should have to do is set the idle a little faster and that should fix your problem.
I would also recommend getting the Hane's or Chilton's repair manual that is specific to your car.
It'll cost you about 25$ but it will cover every aspect of fixing your car, so instead of guessing, you can find out exactly what you want to know.
Including where the fast idle adjustment is.
Good luck!

I have a 2003 sporttrac and the engine will not move the truck any faster than 45 kmh It is at my mechanics and he says the dyno is not giving him any problems to solve it is running fine It just won't...

Take your rig.. drive it to a gas station.. fill the tank up with gas.. also fill 2 jugs of gasoline at the same time... put the jugs in the back of it.. now drive as far as you can until the rig runs out of gas.. then, take the two jugs of gas.. pour it all over the rig, inside and out.. now light it a-blaze, then walk to your nearest car dealer and buy a new car..

have you check your battery cables, the condition, if there tight? these cars have a tendancy to have the cables rot out and that will cause your troubles.
