Question about BMW 325

1 Answer

Passenger side front door is not unlocking after 20amp fuse replacement. Original problem was with the driver side door and that now works. Is there another fuse that needs replacement? If actuator(s) require replacement, would just the passenger front need to be replaced or both front actuators?

Thank you! I'll report back as to whether or not this works. It will save $270 if just the passenger side actuator needs replacement, so my fingers are crossed.

Hi! Pretty much an actuator problem. You will need to replace the actuator to resolve this. YOu don't need to replace them both, just replace the faulty one. HOpe this helps and thank you for using FIxYa!

Sounds like the main wiring loom into the door has been damaged.
Check near the hinges, where the door swings, to see if any damaged wires. Does the door lock and unlock from the drivers side switch?

the wires at the door jamb connector get brittle and crack and break, causing all manner of oddities. and it can certainly be intermittent. like your window rolls down with the door open, but does nothing if the door is closed. wires may need to be repaired or replaced with that molex style plug/connector in the door

You'll need to replace the solenoid (motor) that doesn't work. Not hard once you get the door panel off. I suggest you buy the correct part, not a universal one.
