There are 4 possible causes
1. the thermostat is faulty
2. the radiator is blocked either internally or externally
3. the water pump is faulty
4. a blown head gasket
hope this helps......cheers

Radiator fan wont shut off on 2003 cavalier 2.2 ecotec

Follow the wiring from the fan motor it should lead you to the heat sensor that is located on your radiator, this sensor swithch as possibly stuck in the closed circuit position that's wye your fan is running constantly as this switch completes the power supply to the fan you can pull the spade clip of the sensor to stop the fan until you get a new switch sensor.
Good luck

07 town car...after I drive my car for a while...it smokes a little when I cuts it off plus I hear a bubbling noise

bubbling noise is the radiator boiling. If you have a viscous fan hub the have it replaced as the engine is getting too hot. When you stop an engine thee is still heat being transferred from the combustion chambers into the coolant. When the engine temp is close to boiling , this heat will cause the coolant to boil when you shut the engine down

2006 FREELANDER As the engine gets hotter it gets harder to change gear can you help,,

Might be a silly question, but have you checked to see if you have oil in the gear box, as I can't understand wye this should happen so thinking logically as your driving the engine is getting hot and it's possibly the heat from the engine ben g transmitted to the lay shafts making them expand and that's wye as you drive it gets harder and harder tog et the gears to slide along the shaft in the gear box as the shaft is expanding, I could be talking a load of rubbish but it's worth a check you have nothing to loose and possibly a lot to gain, I've never come across this type of problem be for.
Hope I have been of some help.
Good luck

Antifreeze boiling over when car is overheatind and Wen its not overheating changed thermostat radiator bled and flushed it changed temperature switch no oil and water mixture No smoke

Check the over flow tank located in front of the passenger side glove box for water or fluid. When driving the car, listen by the glove box to see if you car hear a boiling sound. If you can hear water boiling or moving, check your heater core to make sure it is not plugged or bad. When the car starts to over heat, does the gauge register that it is getting hot? If it doesn't then check the thermostat to make sure it is not stuck open or closed. If its over heating and the gauge is not showing that the car is running hot before boiling over, then the thermostat is defective or not working. Try replacing it again.

Cannot get heat, the AC works but not the heat. Could it just be the control which I assume is the thermostat or could it be the heater core?

Take the heater core hoses off at the firewall and add cleaner/flush directly to the core. Run water through and get the gunk out. Ford has a WYE piping system that will bypass the heater core and not allow it to FLUSH and it will get plugged.
The other thing to check is the BLEND DOOR and it is operated by a little motor which you can observe if you have the panel where the radio/heater controls are off. It swings from heat side to a/c side (and in between)as the colors on the knob are rotated. Watch the operation and hope the door has not come off inside the box or the cable.

Nissan path 95, boiling near to over heating

It certainly can cause the condition, but so can TONS of other items: coolant level, bubbles in the coolant (air bleeds), reaiator restrictions.

You could test the thermostat, pull it and put into measured temprature water and observe it as you raise the temprature...

Car is still overheating after new thermostat, new housing.....

bleed air out cooling system. put half antifreeze and half water .if you got too much water .it willl cause engine to over heat. antifreeze raise boiling point .220 degrees it wont boil away . water will evaporate 212 degrees.it will boil away .causing low coolant problems and over heating.
