Well, the rocker arm itself is not a huge cost, but the CAUSE may be. Something happened to cause the failure, and you need to find that. If it is an oiling issue, for example, that can be quite costly....Rocker arms do not just fail.

Hi, i am looking at a 93 nissan pathfinder, it has a clean interior, a straight body, but the guy says it have a broken rocker arm. I know what rocker arms are. can you tell me, what damage this would do...

Just about any vehicle is worth $200 for scrap.
It would depend on how or why the rocker arm broke if the engine is worth fixing. You would not know without removing the valve cover and looking at the rest of the parts.

3.7 rocker arm fell off

The 3.7 and 4.7 in these years were known for this . If after reinstalling the rocker you have a bad miss, check compression on this cyl. If you have zero then the valve seat has dropped (common problem) This causes severe engine damage and parts to repair this are very expensive

2001 Dodge Durango 4.7. The mechanic says that it's a "bent rocker arm and a broken valve". Should I just get another car due the problem I have?

a broken valve can get expensive, may be better to get a used engine from repitable salvage yard, or look on internet. i dont know about a bent rocker arm. that sounds strange. did you pull the valve cover and see it yourself ?

P 2647"A" Rocker Arm Actuator

Your going to need a air pressure regulator or better yet if the ECM found fault price it and replace it
  1. Start the engine, and let it run for 5 minutes, then turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  2. Remove the cylinder head cover.
  3. Set the No. 1 piston at top dead center (TDC).
  4. Move the intake secondary rocker arm A for the No. 1 cylinder. The secondary rocker arm A should move independently of the secondary rocker arm B.
    1. If the intake secondary rocker arm A moves freely, go to step 5.
    2. If the intake secondary rocker arm A does not move, remove the secondary rocker arms as an assembly, then check that the pistons in the secondary rocker arms move smoothly. If any rocker arm needs replacing, replace the secondary rocker arms as an assembly, then retest.
    3. Repeat step 4 on the remaining intake secondary rocker arms with each piston at TDC. When all the secondary rocker arms pass the test, go to step 6.
    4. Check that the air pressure on the shop air compressor gauge indicates over 400 kPa (4.0 kgf/cm2, 57 psi).
    5. Inspect the valve clearance.
    6. Install a 10 x 1.0 mm adapter to the inspection hole, then connect the air pressure regulator
  5. With the specified air pressure applied, move the intake secondary rocker arm A for the No. 1 cylinder. The secondary rocker arm A and secondary rocker arm B should move together. If the intake secondary rocker arm A does not move, remove the secondary rocker arms as an assembly, and check that the pistons in the secondary rocker arms move smoothly. If any rocker arm needs replacing, replace the secondary rocker arms as an assembly, then retest.

I replaced the lifters in my 2000 galant 2.4 L and i need to know what to torque the rocker arm shafts to.

1.5 and 1.8 engines:
* Install the rocker arm and shaft assemblies. Tighten the rocker arm shaft retainer bolts to 23 ft. lbs. (32 Nm).

* Check valve adjustment and install the valve cover. Tighten the valve cover bolts to 16 inch lbs. (1.8 Nm) for the 1.5L engine or to 29 inch lbs. (3.3 Nm) for the 1.8L engine.

2.0 engine
* Lubricate the rocker shaft with clean engine oil and install the rockers and springs in their proper places.

* Install the rocker shaft assemblies on the engine. Tighten the bolts gradually and evenly to 21-25 ft. lbs. (29-35 Nm).

2.4 engine

* Fit the rocker shaft springs from above and position them so that they are at right angles to the plug side. Install the rocker springs before installing the exhaust side rocker shaft and rocker arm assembly.

* Install the exhaust side rocker shaft assembly in the engine. Tighten the rocker shaft mounting bolts gradually and evenly to 23 ft. lbs. (32 Nm).
* Remove the lash adjuster retaining tools.
* Install the rocker cover and tighten the mounting bolts to 30 inch lbs. (3 Nm).

* Reinstall the spark plug wires to the spark plugs.

Hope helps.

Rocker arm come out on jeep chrysler 3.7 eng

A rocker arm is the arm that sits on top of the valve stem and connects to the push rods 'the push rods sit on the cam so when engine is running, the push rods go up and down in a timed sequence and with the rocker arms, open and close the inlet and exhaust valves. the rocker arm is located inside the valve(rocker)cover .If the rocker arm gets loose or comes out.
Check the nuts on the shaft which holds the rocker arms.either the shaft or nuts are got loose. They need to be tightened.Don't make it too tight or too loose.  Too tight, and they don't flutter right. Too loose, and they allow the rocker arms to wiggle out of whack. Other possibility can be  something is broken, bent, collapsed, or out of adjustment.
Thanks. you can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

Loud rattle noise in Camshaft

First, your engine has rocker arms, if you have a 4 cylinder you have 8 rocker arms, and if it is a 6 cylinder you have 12 rocker arms. Now if it is indeed a rocker arm making the noise, the cause is most likely a bad lifter or a worn cam shaft.

Clutch pedal has no pressure

1991 Golf has a cable clutch, the cable pulls up on the arm you see outside the transmission. the arm rotates a shaft in the very tail end of the transmission which actuates a rocker arm which pushes a pushrod that travels up the center of the transmission and operates the clutch.

very complicated right?

anyway, the rocker arm in the tail end of the transmission is famous for cracking along its' splines and jumping over the shaft.
go to the local vw dealer or jobber who specializes in german parts.
you need the rocker arm and the cover plate for the end of the tranny.

remove the clutch cable from the arm, remove the end plate and you'll see the rocker arm, unclip the shaft, remove old rocker arm, and replace. should cost a maximum of $30-40(can)

The rocker arm ticks

before trying too much the lifters will sometimes bleed off some of the prime they have. first try putting in a pint of marvel mystery oil. if that doesn't fix it run an oil pressure test to see if you need a new pump or new lifters
