Why wont my 1996 ford explorer start it turns over but wont start

You need to determine whether or not it is getting fuel and spark. It needs both to start. Remove one plug wire and hold it close to the engine while someone cranks it over. There should be spark from the plug wire. If there is spark, you will have a fuel supply issue. Possible fuel pump/relay/wiring/fuel filter/injectors not working to name a few. If no spark, possible crank sensor/ignition module/wiring.

My 1999 dodge durango 4x4 will turn over but it wont start where should i start?

If vehicle has spark ( even weak spark ) with a fuel supply it should start or at least try to start. Possible fuel pump problem. You need to determine if there is a fuel supply. You can try banging on the fuel tank with a blunt object ( hammer ) while trying to start the vehicle. If it starts or tries to start, suspect a fuel pump failure. If no luck using this procedure, you will need to tap into a fuel line to determine if fuel supply is present and at the proper pressure and volume

Car wont start

My routine to check non-starting motors: (petrol/gas models)

  • Check immobilizer status
  • Check fuel supply -does it reach the fuel rail when starting. If not OK, check 12v supply to fuel pump when starting. If OK, fuel pump maybe dead.If not present, check fuel pump fuse and relay.
  • If fuel supply is OK, check spark ignition. If not OK, follow the supply circuit backwards to the ECM. Coils and/or ignition amplifier connector should have one 12v supply to it when ignition switch is on.
For Diesels with 'common rails' you can take same approach for fuel. No ignition testing possible. The diesel fuel pump still needs battery power. It will make some sound when IGN is on. If not, check ALL fuses and relays.

98 ford expedition wont start but will turn over just whines

See if the CHECK ENGINE light comes on and have the codes diagnosed. Else, might be a fuel supply thing (clogged fuel lines, clogged fuel filter or bad fuel pump, etc...)

2003 nissan sentra se-r spec v heard a pop now wont stay started

Sounds like a fuel supply problem. The fact that it does momentarily start, indicates its not an electrical issue. However, no steady fuel supply to the injectors and it won't run for more than a second or tow. Your problem is in the fuel delivery system most likely. Either the pump, or (if the unit is located in the fuel tank) the fuel filter may have ruptured. That would sent all the fuel back to the fuel tank not to the injectors.

Maybe you have a plugged fuel return line. You have a fuel supply line and a fuel return. If its plugged you can not get the air out of the lines.Remove the the line and blow through it If you cant its clogged. Also you can prime the line line by turning your key on and off .You may need to disconnect the fuel line to make sure gas is coming out when you do this

I disconnecyed the hoses for the fuel injection and othe hoses on driver side and did not label them any help

well one is a return and one is a supply. turn the key to the run position and fuel will spray out of the supply line. on the fuel rail, the supply line will first feed the injectors and then go to the fuel pressure regulator. after the pressure regulator it turns into the return line.

also, if you hook them up incorrectly you will not damage anything. the vehicle wont start and you will just need to swap them.
