Im looking for a Distributor/Dizzy for a 1995 Mitsubishi Diamante 2500cc, Part No: POT57371, 5615, Cast No: T80571. Like I said got an after market part from Taiwan but once fitted I still had the same problems with the engine misfiring. Have also replaced spark plugs and leads.

Hello. This should be a common aftermarket item for a 1995. The distributor is generally available at NAPA stores, and most other auto parts stores. You may also find the part at a junk yard or used auto parts store. J.

Oh, Ok, I understand this reading your next post.

If you don't have any spark and you've replaced all that stuff then it
looks like you missed the one obvious possibility--the fuel filter. Iif
you have spark and it cranks, and you didn't do anything with the timing
belt then your symptoms scream 'clogged fuel filter'.

The filter should be on the engine wall and it should look like a small can. My guess is you've never replaced it.

If the filter has been changed, then check the gas cap. The other thing
that comes to mind is that if the fuel cap is not venting (allowing air
into the tank to replace the fuel that is pumped out) then you could
create a vacuum in the fuel tank that air locks the engine and stalls
the car. It takes about 5 minutes for the vaccum to develop and that
would be in line with your symptoms.

Could be either if you have spark and have changed the other stuff.

    Hope that helps.

Have a look at the following
http://www.partstrain.com/images/product_images/images/replacement/REPD314102.jpg
Does it look the same as your distributor?
It is off a Dodge Stratus which supposedly uses the same engine.

Searching on your part numbers I keep coming up blank. The following site also sells distributors for the diamante:
    http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/shop_p...
The only other suggestion I have is visiting a breakers yard for a secondhand unit.
Sorry that I could not be of better assistance.

Did you replace the dizzy with a new one or did you buy after market, or get a JY dizzy? The JY and after market ones have a tendency to be junk, the electronic coils inside are just garbage. I would suggest getting an OEM brand new or go to the dealer and see if you can buy just the Electronic coil to replace on the inside.

Hi i have a Suzuki sj 413 and its got su carb and brand new coil but there's no spark at all and its been rewired by the haynes diagram but still no sparks it turn on the starter motor but nothing

old post. , its not stock, and you failed to state the year.?
sure
no spark these old cars have a 100% dedicated Distrib.
there is no EFI , early years.
the is a coil of that has no spark then the Dizzy VR and inside ignitor is bad.
if the spark is dead at 4 spark plugs or very weak and ok at the coil that means the timing on the CAM or the Dizzy or both is way off.
caused by rotor sparking between cap tower positions.

1994 diamante wont start. battery is good, car started earlier today. tried to start car, lights all work, fuel pump turns on, car wont start. any suggestions

check to see if there is any spark from the spark plug. Take out a plug and hold it (in pliers) close to a metal part of the motor and get someone to turn it over. you should see a small spark. If not then check dizzy cap and rotor

2002 Mitsubishi diamante battery won't stay charged. I had Sears check it out and they said the charging system works just fine and charged the battery. Didn,t drive car for 2 days - it was in a nice warm...

Interesting as I just started having a similar problem. AAA said thre is a slow drain on the battery (which is only 6 months old). We can hear a very high pitch sound under the hood which may be part of it, but have no idea yet as to what it is.

95 p/u why would a brand new alternator fail after about two months?

Hi:
Auto parts do fail, sometimes too soon, But some of the reasons a alternator could fail prematurely, would be if you somehow had a dead battery, and jump started the truck, sometimes the full current draw to charge a dead battery can kill an alternator. An overtightened belt can cause the alternator bearings to overheat too, killing it.

Glow plug problems. Engine won't start.

Did you ever find a solution to this? I have a 2000 Hyundai Galloper (basically the same car) and I am having the exact same problem. I have replaced the glow plugs 3 times in the past 12 months.

This is shannon with the 95 Mitsubishi diamante

The head gasket job I had to get for one of my cars, cost $1600! Once the repairs start coming... they don't stop! Get rid of the car as soon as you can.

In my experience (I've had a lot of used/older cars), it is much better to get a brand new car. There are affordable ones out there. Go for a dealer that offers rebates to use as down payments, and also a car that comes with a bumper to bumper warranty.

You also DO want "GAP" insurance! I've suffered the consequences for not getting it. It covers the full cost of the car, should there be an accident and your car is totalled. I was still making payments on my car that I no longer had, and the new car I bought, all because someone ran a red light in front of me. Auto repairs eventually broke me financially and resulted in a bankruptcy.

New cars are definitely the way to go. They are much more fuel efficient, They are safer, have great warranties, and the only thing you'll have to do is get gas and get your oil changes every 3 months.
