I have an opel senator. when i apply the brake, the brake becomes hard and it taps strongly on my foot. when this happens, there will be momentary brake failure. When i remove my foot and apply the brake again it holds. However, when the ignition is switched off and the car is re-started, the momentary brake failure results again

2010 subaru forester engine cuts out

consider this
when at the stop lights , you will have your foot on the brake as it will still be in drive or in gear and you don't want the car to move
a simple test is to apply the hand brake to stop the car and don't touch the foot brake
if it idles ok but cuts out when you apply the foot brake , replace the brake booster as it has a vacuum leak that is causing the problem
you can do this test in the garage by starting in neutral and allowing the engine to idle , then apply the foot brake
iof it dies it is the booster

I have a Opel Astra 160iE 1994 model. When I start her, she idles. After a block or two of driving - the moment I put the clutch in, the revs completely drops and the car dies.

it is not the coil or it will die and not restart until the coil cools down
It could possible be a faulty brake booster that has a vacuum leak when you have your foot on the brake --check that by applying the hand brake and seeing if it idles --if it does but dies when you apply the foot brake , replace the booster
If the clutch was installed wrong, you would have trouble selecting 1st and reverse gear ( slash, bash grind)
At 320.000 miles I would suggest a compression test as the motor would be sad and may have too low a compression to be able to function properly Has to be no less than 145 psi ( normal 150-165 PSI)

My 2005 gmc envoy is vibrating only when my foot is on brake or when I stop

If you are not a heavy footed braker... then you have an ABS module problem. There are several sites on line that will do an exchange for a rebuilt one for around $100. If you are a heavy footed braker, your car is behaving normally, Just don't press so aggressively and the vibration won't happen. ABS brakes are supposed to shudder and vibrate when activated, they apply pressure to your brake calipers at roughly 15,000 times a sec, off and on to prevent the brakes from locking up and the car loosing control. In a panic stop, press a car with ABS brakes ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR as hard as you can, use the steering wheel for leverage and push the pedal down a bit more, RIGHT BEFORE IT COMES TO A COMPLETE STOP.

Front brake rotors are warped,if it didn't shake before the wheels were removed, re-torque the lug nuts. If the shake was there before, the rotors either need machined or replaced.

Stalling troubleshooting

run fault codes to check for electronic problems (TCM). If this problem only happens when the foot brakes are applied check for brake booster vacuum problem. Remove vacuum line and blank off and apply the brakes to see if the engine stalls at idle.

2009 Dodge Caliber - The ABS & Brake Light came on as well as the feeling/sensation of the brake being applied very hard for a split second.

take it to an accredited brake specialist shop
I suspect that the brake booster is becoming defective and the small application to the pedal causes excessive booster reaction
the abs section only maintains applied brake fluid pressure as set by the position of the pedal
that is to maintain the pressure as the stopping and start movement of a skidding wheel opens and closes a valve to that wheel /s
if you are on ice that sudden hard braking will cause the wheels to lock and immediately the abs cuts in to allow the wheels to turn and then to allow brake action to be reapplied
if the abs is working under brakes you will get a pulsating feeling under your foot as the fluid pressure is alternation between full on and released by the abs valves

Ford f 250 6.0 diesel power stroke when you start the engine the steering wheel becomes wery strong if you use the foot brake why ?thanks a lot .OVY

the power steering pump also is connected to the brake booster and both take vaccum this is a verry common problem and sucks, the only way to fix this is to get a new power steering pump, just to have it happen again in a few years.

Radio effected by brakes?

If this happens when the car is still you have voltage interference between brake light voltage & antenna. If this happens from motion check all wire connections, loose antenna wire, to antenna.
