The best thing to do with a flush kit on a Montana is to replace a section of the heater hose with a piece about 3 feet long, that way you can install the flush valve and have plenty of room to work with it and the hose will be long enough that it won't kink from the elbows that they use. The water pump is located under the first pulley that you see on the front of the engine. If you were standing in front of the van, it would be the pulley closest to you.

How to flush radiator

best way to flush radiator is to drain the coolant into a container first. Then you should buy a prestone flush kit from wal-mart. They are only like $3. Intall into your cooling lines, as per directed by instructions on package, hook up a water hose and run it through till clear. The instructions on the kit will guide you step by step. Hope this helps you out.

Flushing the coolant system

Once the engine has cooled, locate the radiator drain plug and place a large catch pan underneath it. To expedite the draining process, remove your radiator fill cap to allow air to enter the system. With the cooling system refilled with tap water, replace the radiator fill cap and run the engine allowing it to reach operating temperature.drain radiator,
At this point, if you have opted to purchase a radiator flush kit, you should refill the cooling system with tap water and add the caustic fluid as directed.
Run the engine for as long as the radiator flush kit calls for (usually less than 10 minutes). follow directions on bottle for flushing. if you feel you want to use a T connection just cut into return line, from heater core. then you can use a garden hose to flush system.

Flushing antifreeze on a 2006 kia sorento

This procedure makes a bit of a mess and requires catch pans but it is the best way to flush a coolant system without cutting any hoses or adding a flush kit.

If your radiator does not have a drain plug is to remove the LARGE lower radiator hose and drain the anit-freeze. (Even if it does have a drain plug the steps below are the best way) You then plug the lower radiator hose connection on the radiator and have a 2nd person add water to the radiator with a hose. They will need to place a rag over the fill port for the radiator and flush the block until you get clear water from the lower drain hose. Once you get clear water drain off the fresh water by unblocking the lower radiator fitting and flush the radiator. Once you get cleanwater from the radiator connection, reconnect your lower radiator hose. (Tighten the clamp!) Then add your anti-freeze. Remember there will still be a some water in the block so do not be afraid to keep your anit-freeze / water ratio a tad higher because the left over water in the block will dilute it slightly.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,

Is there not a radiator cap on a 1999 silverado? want to flush sysyem but do you refill through resavoir?

If you don't see a cap, you don't have one. If you are flushing in hopes of correcting an overheating problem, be aware that if the radiator is partially obstructed, the flush chems sold today are too mild to actually do much. The better chems were all banned by the epa.
If you are just doing routine maintenance, easiest method of draining is to remove the lower hose at the radiator, let the system drain, put the hose back on, fill with water and any chems you want to use, run it as per instructions, drain again, fill with more water and repeat with water at least twice before draining and filling with new antifreeze.(do all flushing with heater on full heat) Keep the cap off while doing this so you don't build up pressure and be careful draining hot water. Even though they are mild for the job, chems can still irritate your skin so be careful. When filling for the final time, make sure the system is full and the thermostat has opened before closing it up. Always check everything over for leaks.Any other questions? Just ask!!

Pump is leaking slowly from front seal, makes noise at highway speeds. I'm wanting to flush and refill the system with Barrs stop leak and re conditioner fluid. Wheres the best place to open the system?

Best thing to do is replace the pump as it is make noise telling you that it is coming apart. Unless you have the money to buy another engine you can patch it but a pump is far less expensive than a engine.

Can you use a prestone flush and fill kit without opening the radiator drain **** or removing hoses?

No, the flush kit is mounted on the heater hose and you need to drain the system. Removing the lower radiator hose and termostat is the best method for flushing draining the coolant system.

Low heat s-10 pick-up. how do I flush heater core?

purchase a flush kit, and the flush cleaner from you local autopart store....there are instructions on it on where to put the hose adapter, I think you have to cut the input heater hose (one that goes from the core to the water pump) and splice in the provided tee from your purchased flush kit. run the cleaner through you cooling system and flush and fill....easy job...only take an hour....DO NOT forget to pull the drain on your radiator, people forget this all the time. Oh and enjoy watching all the gunk get flushed out...it is usually a sight to see. good luck

hope this helps

Trying to flush radiator, where is plug in block, or can I just take bottom hose off radiator, to drain all coolant.

go to auto zone/ O"rileys and buy a flush kit, it is a kit that allows you to cut, a heater hose and install a TEE with a cap on it, the cap end is also the hookup for a water hose, wait until the engine is cool, cut the hose install TEE, hook up water hose, remove radiator cap, turn water on low, crank engine and flush until water is clear, reinstall cap and your block, radiator is flushed, don"t forget to put in coolant

How do i flush a radiator

go to auto parts store and get a flush kit,

cut and insert the "T" from the flush kit on the heater hose outlet or inlet.
make sure you are cutting into the heater hose coming out of the firewall heater area and not a large vacuum line.
if your not sure ask a mechanic.

connect the kits anti syphon to water hose and connect to the T you have installed ,
open the radiator , and flush very slow if engine is hot , or wait till engine is cool as a very cold flush can damage the engine.
