If it's related to the cold the only relationship is that the cold weather
accelerated the failure of a weak component, but even that's unlikely. It
hasn't warmed up to more than 30 below here for a week and we've had 2
consecutive nights of -40 and cars are still driving around like they always
do. More incidents of flat tires than usual but few other cold weather
specific faults.
You'll need to read the codes to find out what happened but it's fallen into
the "failsafe" or "limp" mode designed to get you home when a critical input
or control has failed.
