Check small line returning from gas tank to evap cannister for leaks, cracked hose. Also check gas cap for seal.

Check the seal on the gas cap. make sure it is clean. no rust on the filler neck. if there is rust, clean with sand paper and coat with grease. if that is all good it could be purge solenoid.

There are many possible causes for this but 2 popular solutions are a bad / loose gas cap, or overfilling with fuel. there is a multitude of sensors, filters, and connections in the system that can cause the code, but these are a couple basics. many shops are equipped with a smoke machine that hooks up to the system to aid in diagnostics. good luck!

I n my 04 Jeep Cherokee I replaced the bank1sensor1. But now I'm getting code P0442. That's an evap leak. Would my sensor i replaced with a Mopar sensor cause that to code?Did I buy the wrong sensor?

code p 0442 refers to the EVAP system--small leak detected or large leak detected === causes --hose connections , --intake leak---EVAP canister---EVAP purge valve ---mechanical fault ( cap loose or not fitted properly)hose connections ---EVAP pressure sensor
I cannot see any connection between what you did and the fault code---

2004 jeep grand cherokee code 442/455

OBD code P0442 Small EVAP leak detected you may need to check the EVAP canister under the vehicle and the purge valve as well check for cracks on the canister or the purge valve and check all the rubber hoses connected to them foe cracks or holes. If you find any damage parts replace them. P0455 which means a large EVAP leak is sometimes referred as the gas cap leak check your gas cap and secure it tight if you still have the code change the gas cap hope this helps after you find and fix the problems get the vehicle to a shop and they will use an OBD scan tool to clear the codes.

P0455 and p0442

p0455-- emission control system ( a large leak ) the most common cause is a bad seal on fuel cap, remove and replace cap, if light stats on. replace cap. if not the cap it could be any where in emission system. p0442 is--same as above. Code p0442 indicates a fuel vapor leak in the EVAP control system. To fix this problem, remove and reinstall the gas cap. Clear the codes and drive to see if the codes reappear. If the code appears again replace the gas cap or inspect the system for cuts or holes in the tube or hose. good-day !

2003 Jeep Liberty

p0455 is evap control system no purge or large leak
p0442 is evap control system leak detected (small leak)

the cause for both could actually be a loose gas cap.

Troubleshooting code # 0442 on 2002 Jeep Liberty

Im guessing its a P0442. That means:
EVAP LEAK MONITOR MEDIUM 0.040 LEAK DETECTED
Causes of this could be a few things.
I recommend replacing the gas cap. Then take it to an auto place to get them to erase the code.
If it comes back on then...
Under the hood is a small green cap. That is the EVAP line. Follow that all the way to the gas tank and see if you see any leaks. If you do, replace/repair it.
If you dont then the only thing you honestly can do is take it to a mechanic with an EVAP Emission Leak Detector [EELD]
Good Luck!!

I have trouble starting my 2002 Jeep Liberty plus I have error codes P0442 &P0455. What is wrong? and how can I fix.

PO442 & PO455 are for your evap system which has to do with monitoring your fuel tank and fuel vapor system this shouldn't affect starting at all.
