Question about Dodge Avenger

1 Answer

My 2008 dodge avenger just overheated from a cold start all the way to red in about 2 miles of driving. It has never done this before and after it went to red it went down a bit then back up and stayed there just as i parked in my driveway. I turned it off and it went right back up to the red again. HELP!! I'm not sure if it needs fluid because i dont where to look to check the level. Also, i just recently had my oil changed 3 days ago but the light keeps coming on say "change oil".

The coolant reservoir is on the passenger side of the engine compartment. It should have a radiator cap on it. The design is not very good, because it can be a little tough to see exactly what level the coolant is at. Just look through the side and shake it to see the general level of coolant.

For the oil reminder, reset it by following these steps:
-Turn key to the run position(where all the lights come on but don't start the engine)
-After about 1 second, press the accelerator pedal all the way to the floor and let it come all the way up 3 times within about 5 seconds.
-Then turn the car off.

It won't work if the gas pedal does not go all the way down and up, if you go too fast, or if you don't turn it off afterward. Watch for the small red dot light to go out as an indicator for success. You will probably have to try it a couple of times before it actually resets.

Hope this helps!

Great! The part about getting rid of the change oil indicator worked perfectly!

2008 dodge avenger stopped blowing cold air from one day to the next. My mom drove my car today and now it's now blowing cold air when it was driving just fine yesterday. What could it be?

It may be an electric issue somewhere in the circuit but it's going to have to be troubleshooted using a wiring diagram to find the problem.

I need to jumpstart a car but i cant find my battery on a 2008 dodge avenger

Like my 1998 Breeze, the battery is most likely under some stuff hard to get at.
But I have a jump start lug on top of the engine, covered with a red plastic removable piece.
This is the positive of the battery and the cover needs to be in place after your done!
Check around for something like this.

96 dodge avenger automatic 2.4 liter i can drive

Check the transmission oil cooling radiator [and fan(s)] to check for proper cooling--blow out the radiator fins with compressed air. Check the color of the transmission fluid to make sure that is not being contaminated.
