This sounds like a main feed wire to the ignition switch is open, check connections of wiring on positive battery post, these are bad to corrode! And they can be eat up from acid vapors!

Hyundai i20 1600 2009, engine not starting all the time.Battery tested, all good. Roll starts in second. radio windows & lights work.

If it starts by rolling the car then it is a possibility the problem lies in the ignition starter switch, this is the switch that the ignition key turns (unless of course it is push button start). Other possible reasons are a defective fuel pump pressure check valve.

try turning the engine over by hand do it without the ignition on. see how hard it is to turn. turn it a few times then try to start with starter motor. if still will not turn check the starter motor is engaging. check wiring and make sure there is a good earth.

I have a new battery and alltinator but my car still wont start

Have the starter tested! Check the cables to see if they are in good condition. Check the cable that goes to the starter. They all need tight connections.Don`t know the year, make and model. but older cars have a solenoid switch that is not on the starter.

1996 nissan maxima is eating cylanoid switches

If "tapping" the SOLENOID ever worked... you
HAVE A DEFECTIVE SOLENOID.

Defective is all inclusive... and when "STUFF"
happens (burns up)... it is VERY LIKELY to cause
COLATERAL damage...

(FRIED WIRES & IGNITION SWITCH)
((fix that "STUFF" later)).

At the SOLENOID ... apply "B" battery DIRECTLY
to the "S" terminal of the SOLENOID...

IF it does not fully spin up the starter 100% of the time
the solenoid or the starter is DEFECTIVE.

1986 camaro v8 tunedport will not start wipers lights etc work brand new battery.i get no crank at all. neutral safty switch mabe??what do you think????

if you use a test light and check for voltage on the big wire at the starter this will tell you that the wiring from the battery to the starter is good.now check the small wire at the starter while someone tries to start the car you should have power to that wire.if you do then the wiring from the ignition switch to the starter terminal and everything in between is good.the problem is the starter solenoid or the starter.its a good idea to replace the starter as a new solenoid comes with it as apposed to changing only the solenoid and the starter goes bad shortly after.if you don`t have power to the terminal then check the neutral safety switch.

Car wont turn over, tested the starter, replaced the starter relay, new batt cables and batt, still wont turn over

Try the ignition switch (the actual part with the keys). You can actually try starting the car without using the keys. You can do this by hot wiring.
